Ohhh those Keebler Elves

Oh let me tell you… The Keebler Elves have REALLY outdone themselves this time. I found some new cookies at Wal-Mart this weekend called “Coconut Dreams.” They taste just like those Girl Scout cookies called Caramel Delights. Now I can eat them more than once a year. I know Liz, my trainer, that means more times running up and down the stairs. Ohhhhhhh but they are so worth it!!!

Ford had another fun birthday party this weekend. It was at a place called Cedar Hill Farms. He got to ride a train, go on a hayride pulled by a tractor (big plus), see a chicken puppet show, ride a pony, and see lots of animals.
I know you like that face I am making. The pony kicked my foot. Trey had to take over.
I was a bit worried about the “hay” ride and expressed my concerns to Trey. I am allergic to hay and most anything else outdoors. It makes my eyes water, nose run, and I sneeze. The captain of the hay ride assured me it wasn’t hay, but straw and better yet, it was wheat straw. I saddled up.

After all the fun stuff it was time for cake and presents. Ford entertained himself very well.

On Sunday afternoons we like to find something outdoorsy to do. Last weekend it was dove hunting and this weekend it was fishing. I, personally, am not a fan, only because I have never caught a fish. I have only held a fishing pole a matter of a few minutes though. Patience is something I am still trying to acquire when it comes to fishing. But, we thought it would be a good idea to go fishing at our new property.

Trey caught a fish and Ford was not a fan.
Then we decided to get down in play in our boots and $2.00 Wal-Mart shorts.
Our sitter is back after 14 days off. I want to thank all of our help again. We could have NEVER made it without ya’ll!!!!!
You know I give Trey absolute fits on here. I am sure he cringes when he knows that I am back here blogging… just wondering what will she write about me now. I have gotten a lot of feedback on my stories I post about Trey. I have told him for years now that he is so fun to pick on because he never strikes back. But I am not going to pick on him today. He deserves a break!!

I love you Trey and I thank you for working so hard to support our family. You are a wonderful husband and father!!!

Ford is talking up a storm. He is putting 2 and 3 words together and trying desperately to communicate with us. He is so funny. We are having the best time with him right now.

Houdini

About two months ago Ford, Gran, and I went to Tupelo to get his hands and feet done at Midnite Pottery in Tupelo. Well, his piece is adorable. I couldn’t have imagined it being so cute. I am so glad we had this done. Thanks again Aunt Elizabeth and Uncle Jeff!!!
Last Friday when I got home from school and changed Ford’s diaper I decided that he felt really hot. I took his temperature and he had 103.4. He ran fever on and off all weekend and finally on Tuesday Trey and I took him to the doctor. We were told he has “teething syndrome” and basically just to deal with it. Another doctor several months back told us that babies don’t run fever from teething that something else has to be going on with them. I wish these doctors would get all their information clear. I was one worried momma.

Trey took these pictures. Please notice me through the mirror in the background. I FELT horrible. I was sure I was about to be sick right then and there in that exam room. Luckily, I didn’t get sick… just felt bad for a bit. The stomach bug is going around at my school. I am crossing my fingers not to get it!

Ford helping me cook

Tonight Trey, Ford, all 4 grandparents, and myself went to eat before the North West Community College football game. We skipped out on the game but enjoyed a burger before.

Ford and Gran.  Sweet Gran kept Ford 2 days this week while we are still without a sitter.
It just wouldn’t be a good blog entry if I didn’t talk about Trey and what all he has done. I have 2 good Trey stories. I think I will tell one this time and one next time. On Wednesday, Ford went to work with Trey before my mom got to town to keep him. Trey’s office is upstairs in their building. Trey had Ford upstairs with him and decided he needed to run out to the car. Trey shut Ford in his office and went downstairs, out the door, and to the car. When Trey came back inside Ford had managed to open his office door and climb down the stairs alone. When Trey rounded the corner he said Ford was at the third step from the bottom.

I, myself, was not impressed with his parenting skills on this particular morning. Neither was Pops, who works with Trey. I explained that he can’t leave that child unattended for 2 seconds. He is like Houdini. I think that was an eye opener to Trey. Ford has some skills!

I am starting a photography class next week so hopefully my picture taking skills will improve.

Drummer Boy

We have had some interesting critters around our house lately. Last week it was the gray kitty and this week it was a SNAKE! Ughhhhhhhhhh!!! I wasn’t even the one who spotted it either, Ford’s favorite baby sitter, Lucy, did. Luckily, it had a frog in its mouth so it couldn’t get us, and I quickly called Trey to come home and chop its head off.

We have been having themed Fridays at school to get everyone pepped up for the football games. This past Friday was Hillbilly day! Ms. Magee and myself….

We have had a busy weekend. It was opening weekend of DOVE hunting!!! Puddin bought Ford some new Carhart overalls, but they were a tad too big so we went with what we had..
Last year at this time Ford was such a little fella…
On the way home from Dove Hunting we stopped by a party. No one loves a party more than Trey… well, maybe Ford does. This was the real deal kind of party, a band and all. When the drummer took a break, Ford picked up where he left off.

We are still without a babysitter. We want to say a special thanks to EVERYONE who has been helping us keep our little man so we could go to work. I know it’s putting a strain on all involved, but Trey and I really appreciate it.

I have thoroughly enjoyed my 3 day weekend. I hope you have too. I really needed it. Have a lovely 4 day week everyone.

Wrong Thing to Say

I actually have a lot to say tonight. Last weekend a gray kitten adopted us. I am not a cat person, but in kitty terms this was a cute cat. Ford was so excited. He would holler “kitty kitty”. The poor cat was scared to death. I was sure it would leave but it never did. Delta was all upset that a cat was in her back yard and I personally didn’t like hearing all the crying it did. We found the kitty a home after 2 days. Thank goodness.
For the last six days now Trey and I have been in a panic trying to figure out who would be able to keep Ford since his sitter is still tending to her husband who had open heart surgery. Last week a good friend of mine kept Ford on Wednesday and my Mom had him Thursday and Friday. This week Puddin had him Monday morning then his grandmother, Bobba, that afternoon. On Tuesday Aunt Ashley, Molly Cate and Caroline drove down to keep Ford, today Uncle Bobby and Bobba kept Ford, tomorrow my friend, Rosy, is keeping him again, and Friday Puddin will have him on her birthday. He has had a BIG time getting loads of attention. I asked Aunt Ashley to keep my camera yesterday and document the activities….

Ford has been a pistol with me lately. It’s only me too. He has my number and he knows it!!! He will pitch a MAJOR fit if he isn’t getting his way. Yesterday, while I was trying to cook, I gave him a Crystal Lite container that had a Cherry Limeaid packet inside. He had fun trying to open the container. The next time I turned around his face looked like this…

I decided that was not a good idea to play with the drink mix so I took it away. The fit began…

Ohhhhhhh the joys of motherhood!!!!!

Trey told me not to write this but I think it is worth discussing. As you all know, I have been working out. Tonight Trey says, “Do you think you have lost weight? Gained weight? Or stayed the same?” That question right there told me he thought I had gained weight. He would never ask that otherwise. I said, “Well, I don’t know. I haven’t been on the scale lately. I’m sure I haven’t lost weight considering I am not watching what I eat.” Then he said “Well, you look “STOCKY!!!” I almost fell over. That is NOT a good thing to say to a woman, much less you wife. I got upset. He said I didn’t mean that I meant “Thick.” It just kept getting worse!!!!!! He then said you look like you are “bulking up” with all those weights you have been lifting. I, myself, do not think any of the above comments were appropriate or needed. He may sleep outside tonight!

I really am so excited this is Labor Day weekend. I need a good long weekend at home. This is also dove season. Trey will become one with the dove fields and Ford and I may hit the pool.

We will be graduating to a size 4 diaper tomorrow!
