We Have a Name

Well, after much discussion and several compromises Trey and I have come up with a name for our first child. Trey thought it would be a good idea, and I agreed, that we name him a family name. It couldn’t just be any family name, it had to be the name of someone we knew or otherwise it wouldn’t be as significant.

We decided to name him Jefferson Ford Lamar. Where did these names come from you may ask? Well, my grandfather’s middle name is Jefferson and Trey’s mother’s maiden name is Hannaford. We shortened Hannaford to Ford and put the two together.

Baby boy Lamar will be called Ford.

A few weeks ago Trey and I attended The Crystal Ball. It is a fundraiser for the Community Foundation of Northwest Mississippi. We had a nice evening filled with good food, entertaining music, and an enjoyable time of watching intoxicated people bid ridiculously high amounts for things at a silent auction.

Compliments of the overpriced tickets each couple gets their picture taken, but we were lucky enough to have ours taken a few more times. Trey and I were in the Commercial Appeal the following week because (I think) the photographer thought he was cute!!! Trey, along with two other Senatobia natives, were also featured in the January/February issue of Click magazine. I just wanted everyone to know that pregnancy hasn’t slowed us down too much. We still make an occasional appearance at social events.

The next post I make we will reveal baby boy Lamar’s name. Check back soon!!!!!!!!

Times a Ticking....

I am now 26 weeks pregnant (14 to go) and Willis still doesn’t have a “real” name, his nursery is nowhere close to being ready, and I don’t have a clue about what to expect. Trey seems to think that we have a lot of time to think about names, but I would love to give him his official name.
As far as the nursery goes, it’s a work in progress. We pawned some of the furniture in the study (soon to be baby’s room) off to Vance, Trey’s brother, and I have cleaned out the closet. Now, all that was in the closet is all over the floor. It’s a mess. We are having a man come and paint the ceiling a sky blue tomorrow, so I hope Trey decides where he wants to put all of his man toys before then. We have a baby bed, two chests with book shelves (one shelf will be removed for a changing area), a chair and ottoman have been ordered, and curtains and bedding is being made. I guess you can say we are moving in the right direction.
I have tried to register for some baby goods at Target and Babies R Us, but like I said, I don’t know what to expect, much less what to register for. So if you are bored enough to read my blog then please check out my two registries and see what I am lacking. I need all the help I can get.

I am attaching a belly picture for your enjoyment and pleasure!!!!
