A buck with no horns

So, contrary to what I thought, I do have a lot of pictures on my phone to blog about.  After all, I haven't filled y'all in on my life in a whopping 8 days.  Stuff happens.

Last Friday, Trey tells me we are going to The Crystal Ball.  Okay, you say.  This is a black tie affair.  I panic a tad bit more than mildly for reasons such as: I have NOTHING to wear, I should have dieted for this, I am white as mayonnaise, and my feet look like I have been roaming through the jungle barefoot for years (fingers look bad too).  So I did what anyone would do and deposited the kids with Trey so I could get someone to improve my appearance.  My toenails and fingernails improved much.  I rubbed sunless tanner on for the mayonnaise factor, I slipped on some Spanx for instant weight loss, and drum roll please.... found a bridesmaids dress from 2007 and WORE IT!!!!!!!

The coat belonged to my mother!
Sela Ward was being honored at the 2018 Crystal Ball.
Swanky events aren't my thing.  I am much happier at home in my smoochy clothes (t-shirt and sweat pants).  But I went and plan to buy something more 2019ish if I am attending next year!

Praise YE the Lord, the inclement weather is G-O-N-E and I was able to take back over my house.  I spent 3 days cleaning and doing laundry.  It was great to get outside too!
And eat a "spockable".  That's a popsicle to Annie.
Me:  "Annie if you will be sweet in Dollar Tree I will buy you some stickers!"
 Bit wanted a side shot...
These two love each other dearly.  I keep wondering when the day will come that Ford decides she is annoying and doesn't want her around.  It hasn't happened yet!
My boys are obsessed with poster boards and drawing.  I'll buy a pack if it'll bring out their creative side.  Ford was drawing his future house plans.
My cousin, Maria, was at the capitol one day and found Trey.
 Bit and a poster board...
He didn't want anyone to see...
We were drawing our old house....
 Ta-Da!
Stinky, aka Otis, went to the vet for a bath, teeth cleaning, and toenail cutting.  God gave me this dog for some reason, maybe to teach me more patience.  He's trying my patience real hard.  Real hard!
 Cardboard heart....
Wrapped in yarn= 20 minutes of entertainment for Bitty.
Momma, push me to the blue house.  (There's a blue house near ours and they want to swing really high that direction).
I want my kids to never act like me in many aspects.  I want them to be smarter and better than me at life in general.  I hate to read.  My parents totally dropped the ball with me in this area of my life.  However, I promote reading BIG time at this house.  We do AR (accelerated reader) all year long.  I tell Ford, "The more you read the more you know, the more you know the further you go."
 Rarity
To postpone bedtime she will try to con me into book reading after we've read our Bible story.  On this night I let Daddy read....
Sometimes a bath bomb is super entertaining....
This is my second year to coach basketball.  I wouldn't really say I know what I am doing.  I am usually hollering to get your arms up, don't touch the other players, find your man, get he rebound, etc.  Those are my key phrases.  But I will say our little team has come a long way!  We've won every game and they're all growing as players.
 My #13
Stinka is going to try gymnastics class tomorrow.  Should be interesting!
The last time I went hunting I was 7 months pregnant with Annie.  Today the boys begged so I went.
Bitty and Ford were so loud!  I asked if they were always this loud or was the special entertainment (me) the reason for such racket.
Within 5 minutes of being in the stand, Ford shot what we "thought" was a doe.  Turns out he got a buck that had lost his horns.  We were super excited about the deer, but a bit confused as to what to do with your first buck that has no horns!!!!!

Inclement Weather days are winning

Last Thursday,  January 11, I laid my children’s clothes out for the following day of school, Friday, January 12.  I will have you know that today is Friday, January 19, and we still aren’t back at school.  INCLEMENT WEATHER has got me going CRAZY!!!!!!!!!!!

We were out of school on January 12.  The weekend was nice.   Monday was nice, but we were out for MLK Day.  Monday night it snowed and we woke up to.....
Daddy was in Jackson so we loaded up, drove through the yard, and headed to the neighbors' house.  I am thinking the Oakley's might have regretted inviting us over.
We would sled, come inside to warm up, eat, sled some more, play toys, etc.
 It was frigid!
Sidney and Brooks were all about the snow.  The mommas weren't so much.  We stayed inside a lot.

There were 8 kids and 2 adults on that 4 wheeler.
Finley, Bit, and Ford
Thank goodness we had the golf course the play on!!!
After 6 hours and 45 minutes Annie laid down on their kitchen floor to wave the white flag.  She was done!
The Bit slept good too!!!!!!
On January 22, my children will return to school, I THINK, which will only be their fourth day all month!!!!!!

P.S.  I think they will need new clothes on Monday because the ones from last week definitely have dust on them by now!!!!!

More inclement weather is coming!

So after 3 weeks out for Christmas break, we headed back to school on Tuesday...only to stay for 3 days before inclement weather had us home again on Friday.  Notice my expression, it's that of "Lord help me, give me patience and understanding during this time of solitary confinement with the offspring."!!!!!!!
Mr. "I have 10,000 questions a day", aka Ford, started in on Hitler one day.  Which lead to lots of explanation, google searches, and finally landing on Anne Frank.  When we went to the library we had to check out her book, which might I add, is over his reading level, but he insisted!
Then Bitty used his Christmas money from my grandmother and his great grandmother, to buy canvases and paint.  He painted Uncle TA's barn.
I'd say he nailed it.  He also offered to sell it to TA for $15 because good art is expensive!
This beautifully captures my children and their personalities!
 Inclement weather photo....
When the roads are bad and there's nowhere to go you watch A LOT of Paw Patrol.
Wonder what all these shirtless kiddos and their daddy are looking at.  I'm just wondering why my Christmas tree is still up?  Ohhh yeah, Fancy broke his pinky and declared he can't move it!
Trey, the boys, Sidney, and Sidney's cousins went hunting.  They killed 4 doe, 2 coyotes, and a bobcat.
 REDNECK picture all the way!!!!!!!!!!
After a redneck hunt one must gather and eat.  Emery and Annie enjoyed the festivities.
Faces of not so innocent boys who stole their daddy's phone!
Ice cream at Puddin's house after lunch.
None for him...he'd rather play Wood Puzzle.
Can we all sit with you, Daddy????  I was told there wasn't room for me, so I came to blog instead.
The boys take art lessons once a week.  This was Ford's latest project!
And guess what????????....more inclement weather is coming Monday night!!!!!

February recap

Axton and Griff both played on Ford's BPA travel team last year and this year that came to our school!!! "Momma, take my picture!&q...
