Eye blue

Oh my dear little Bitty.   He’s rare bread, but to truly know him is to love him.  If you’re his buddy he’s faithful til the end.  He’s passionate about what he loves and who he loves.  One of his loves is farming.  He loves all things that go along with farming: tractors, trailers, sweat, weeds, bugs, cows, horses, mud, boots, camo, spit, Gatorade, hats, haybales, gates, and rednecks.  And since I don't farm, I'm sure I left out a large list of farming things!  Forgive me.

This picture is of Bitty and Thomas Paul.  He would be Uncle TA's daddy and the nephew of Bitty's great grandmother.
Y'all....Ohhhh y'all...In 2017 I have truly been introduced to life as a baseball mom.  We have been playing baseball weekly since early March and aren't done yet.  I dropped Ford off at Leland's house the other night before practice and these two dressed alike!
Summer time and the swimming pool have turned this baby girl's hair blonde.
Today, June 30, 2017, Annie never once wet her diaper.  I praised her ALL day long and promised to buy her some make-up tomorrow!!!!!!!!!!
Back to baseball since that's my life.  Don't kid yourself, because when you have three kids it's not about you anyway...it's about them!  We do baseball.
Ford LOVES it, so I do too.
 My short stop
Eye black (or eye blue in this game) is essential.
I guess Elizabeth and I better dressed the part!!!!!!!!

I miss writing him letters

Baseball mode is still going strong.  Ford LOVES it.  There's never a cross word, gripe, or complain about practices or games.  I mean with him it's like the more the merrier.
I thought maybe I should document what a meal looks like at our house.  I've never owned a high chair and the little two won't sit in any kind of booster seat, so they stand.
Our Greer....She got a Diet Coke out of the machine at church and it said "my name"!!!!!!!
Father's Day... The boys helped the Trey out together fish habitats to sink in our lake for the fishies to hide in.
They look like Christmas ornaments to me.
Two sunglasses are always better than one.
Despite the fact that Ford has darker hair and more olive colored skin than the Bit, I think they look a lot alike.

In a previous blog I mentioned that my 92 year old Grandfather died.  Last week we went to Jackson to celebrate his life with a beautiful funeral service.  His obituary in the paper was quite impressive, but what really stood out to me was how much of an impact he left on others.  It's not our accomplishments that matter, yet the legacy we leave behind.  He was a sweet, sweet man and was called a Southern gentleman many times by the minister.  His 5 grandchildren are proud of him.
I wrote him at least 2 letters a week while he was in the VA nursing home the last 4.5 years.  It's been sad the last few days not sending a note to him.  In 4.5 years he never once wrote me back, but I know he enjoyed the nonsense I wrote and pictures I sent.
Grandmother with 5 of her 6 great grandchildren.  We left Annie at home.
Someone got new boots for his birthday from Puddin and Pops.  I would also like to add that he looks much taller.
We venture to the swimming pool on occasion, and Sister thinks she needs ice cream.  I, myself, think it's a horrible idea.
Love this kid.
"Momma, can I have a buzz cut?"
Last weekend we went to Sebastopol for the Anthony family reunion.  My children love going and playing with their cousins.
But it wears them out.
And Uncle Ken rode home with us which thrilled Annie!
She really wanted this hat from the Fourth of July section at Wal-Mart.
We went to a birthday party last night.  Bitty was going to get a ball and fell into a gutter or something metal that had fallen off the people's house.
He didn't even cry!
This morning we started working on our Christmas list.  I mean it is 6 months (182 days) away.
Batting cages with Ford
Sister and I spent about 5 hours mowing today.  Yes, 5 hours.  We have a big yard...and I didn't do it all.
She refused to get off, so she napped.
I'll save the most exciting for last.... BoomPa is dating!!!!!!!!  Meet Patty...
Patty and my mom were Tri Delta's together at Ole Miss.  Her husband died 5.5 years ago of cancer.  When mom got sick she'd call and check in on my parents and continued to do so after mom died.  She'd check on me and Ken and Ashley and I could tell she genuinely cared.  Meanwhile, dad got off the beaten path and dated a local lady that didn't fit the mold for some time.  Patty and dad became good friends, talked regularly, and had a lot in common.  Eventually, he got rid of the other lady and asked Patty to go on a date with him.  Fast forward a little and they're having a large time together and I couldn't be happier.

Water slide and tarps

Let’s all just be honest for a hot minute….. Birthday parties can get out of control these days.  In the last two years I have tried to find a way to get out of having my kids a party, and then I feel like a dirty dog so I give in.  Bitty changed his mind about 15 times on what kind of party he wanted to have.  Not that there are an abundant amount of choices, but still.  He settled on a tractor party, with tractor decorations, and playing in the yard.  Well, I told him it was entirely too hot to just play in the yard, so I enlisted the help of a water slide.

I, Jill Anthony Lamar, always have a Plan A and Plan B.  I am pretty sure I have changed a lot in recent days because there was NO Plan B!  Friday afternoon about 2:30 it started raining and pouring.  I was steadily mowing the yard when the bottom fell out.  Slight panic came over my body knowing that I might have over 20 children running inside my house.  I kind of didn’t give a lot of thought to it though.  By Saturday morning at 10:00 it was pretty!

The water-slide was a hit!  It was chilly at first, but little kids obviously have no internal thermostat!
The tarps were a nice addition so we didn't get grass all in the slide.

I wasn’t a total Scrooge so I let people bring presents this year.  We won’t do presents on birthday party #6 though.  I just can’t deal with stuff everywhere.
Bitty loves Elizabeth and he swears he's taller than she is... I'm not seeing it!
I went cheap on my cake... Wal-Mart special!!!!!
 Bitty's idea.... his wheelbarrow...
