Jackson, haircuts, and Three update

Last week I decided that we needed to make a quick trip to Jackson and stay at Puddin’s house.  She is always so nice to let us come and destroy her home for a few days while we play, eat, and visit around.

Our first stop on Tuesday was the car place to get my oil changed, followed by a trip to the Children’s Museum.  We love that place.
We did some shopping, saw my Grandmother and her sisters, ate some good food, saw our buddy, Taylor, and even played with some friends’ at their house.

Bitty needed a turn too!!!
The splash pad was a big hit.
And a big day of the Children’s Museum will wear a little guy slap out.
Thursday before we left we had to go back to the museum for a little bit before we headed home!
This year I have actually branched out and taken my kids to the country club swimming pool.  It was just too hard in the past with little ones, but now they are more self-sufficient.  We had a 5 ½ hour pool day on Tuesday and Bitty couldn't handle it anymore once we got home!
I promise I clean my bath tub… Bitty has bath tub markers and colored that lovely orange everywhere.
We have been super spoiled this summer.  We sleep until we want to get up, lay around, eat breakfast, and go places at our own convenience.  Well, this will ALL come to a screeching halt next week school starts back.  Ford likes to stay in his pajamas until 9:30 and be lazy.  Bitty too.
I rarely get alone time.  It is so rare it’s not even funny.  I can’t even cook supper without Bit-Bit saying he needs to “hep” (help).  It takes three times as long, but last night I let him stir the okra in the cornmeal for 10 minutes and this activity was pleasing to him.
I've said it before and I stand FIRM by my assumption that Ford Lamar talks more than anyone I know.  The other day his question to me was: “Momma, why are some people really wide???”  That was a fun one to answer.  I told him some people don’t exercise, are born that way, or eat healthy foods and they make them wide!!

He tells me daily what profession he plans to be when he’s older.  Lately he has decided on: lawyer, building houses, making tents, and making parking lots, but he always says he wants to be a lifeguard.

Haircuts before we head back to school….
Bitty is talking more.  No one get excited, because he doesn't speak in sentences.  He communicates beautifully though…. One word sentences only.  Most people can determine what he is saying.  Bit-Bit would be John Brantley.  Vrrroooom is either a motorcycle or 4-wheeler.  He doesn't say “yes”, instead he moves his bottom lip and chin area back and forth.  It’s comical.  He calls Ford – Bubba or Fore.  He has a hard time making the “s” sound at the beginning of a word.  For instance, if he wants a snack he says, “nack”.

Mr. Cool got a haircut too.  Do you like the one glove he is sporting???
 PREGNANCY UPDATE:

This go round is rough.  I’m not going to lie and sugarcoat anything.  I’m not impressed.  I know that being older and chasing two wild boys around just adds to the excitement of feeling like poo, but I think this is the worst yet.  I usually feel okay until lunch and then it’s downhill the rest of the day.  If I could I would lie down every afternoon, but that isn’t always possible.  I’m hungry a lot, but eating makes me feel worse sometimes.  Fortunately, at almost 10 weeks and my forth pregnancy, I am still in regular clothes.   I was this far along when Trey and I lost baby #1, so the first trimester always has me in knots with worry.

I have managed to gain 3 pounds already.  I am going on this weight gain deal based on the doctor’s scale only.  I need to burn my scale!!!  I was upset when they said I had gained 3 pounds, when I didn't gain until 18 weeks with either of the boys.

Pops swears I’m having a girl and has bet me $100 dollars.  I told him that was fine, but I don’t have a job.  He is Trey’s boss, and said that was okay… he would just take it out of his check!

The house building is coming… still slowly.  Here are recent pictures.
Trey thinks we will be in at the end of the year, but I figure we will just keep things exciting and wait until Three makes his/her debut.

Baptism Day

“That if you confess with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.”  -Romans 10:9
Ford has loved the Lord for such a long time now.  He has been so inquisitive and asked deeper questions that I could even think of.   On July 15, he asked Jesus to come into his heart, and today, on July 27, he was obedient and followed in believer’s baptism.
“For everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.”  -Romans 10:13
“I tell you the truth, anyone who will not receive the kingdom of God like a little child will never enter it.”  - Luke 18:17
I don’t think I have ever seen anyone more excited about asking Jesus to come into their heart and follow with baptism.  Ford has been ecstatic.  He has been counting down the days.  He has been asking questions.  He wanted to know who all would be there to see him being baptized.

Today was such a special day for our family.  We all pray for our children to be healthy and to grow up to be respectful adults, but we should be focusing on their eternal home.  It brings me the greatest pleasure to know that Ford Lamar’s name is written in the Book of Life and he will be in Heaven for eternity.  He said he’s ready to go now!

Pickwick trip

I’m here my fellow blog followers.  No, I haven’t been on my “A Game” with posting new updates lately, because creating a life is hard work.  I’m not sure if this pregnancy is worse, chasing two very active kids wears me out, or the fact that I am older, OR all three, but I am not feeling too chipper very often.  Please accept my apologies at this time.

Back in June I decided that it was a must that we take a lake trip.  Now I started planning this trip in my head BEFORE Three, the new baby, was in the picture.  My crew was on board with a getaway along with Puddin, Pops, Uncle Vance, and his girlfriend, Emily.  So we chose and date, which was last weekend, and off we went to Pickwick Lake.

The drive isn't too far from Mayberry, only about 2 hours… give or take a few minutes here and there.  So we loaded up on Friday afternoon in the yucky weather with high hopes of a better forecast to come.  We were able to stay in a family member’s very nice lake home on our trip.  Friday we unloaded, got situated, ate, and went to bed.  Saturday morning we had a big breakfast, lounged around because it was yucky outside, and finally around 2:00 were able to get on the boat.
Bitty HATED the lifejacket with a huge passion.  I think the fact that it smooshed his face was not okay with him.  It was chilly on Saturday.  Can you tell… the jackets and blankets?!?!?!?!?

A boat ride is a great place for a nap, too!!!
Snacks are always a must on a boat ride.
It was a little chilly on Saturday in the lake.
I got this driving stuff down...
The boys had a LARGE time on the huge sectional couch.  They are into tent making, as I have mentioned in the past, and they were able to make a grand tent out of this big momma.
That's Ford swinging off of a rope into the water.
Sunday was a MUCH prettier day.  Again, we got up and had a large breakfast and did a little lounging.  I could only lounge so long and  I had to tell the people to get the show on the road.  We were missing valuable lake time.  On this day we took out the tube.  Tubing has ALWAYS been great fun to me; the faster, bumpier, and rougher, the better.  However, with Three on board this momma can’t be doing all that.  I refused to miss out on the fun though.  So I still participated, but only at about 10 mph.

 Until next time....
