The Helmet Posse'

John Everette and James came over tonight and had their new helmets in tow.  Trey went and got Ford’s and they all thought they were the coolest things since sliced bread.

It was a struggling to get his helmet off even after his friends left. Big party this weekend… tractor style. Pictures to come….

Easter

Easter was wonderful as always. It is such a special holiday and was nice to share it with family.

I went against normal Easter clothing traditions and wore black. I have a white suit I have worn the last few years and just couldn’t bring myself to wear it again. I didn’t have time to go buy anything new and I need a tan worse than an albino person.

 The Easter Bunny came....

 Candy at 7:00 A.M.

It seems I always have to go to Wal-Mart when Trey isn’t around.  This weekend I went at least twice and I drug Trey along for the fun.  Ford decided to help me push the buggy and I made Trey document the event.

 His FAVORITE summer activity

We are getting ready for the big birthday party this weekend.  We got the flower beds cleaned and new pine straw put out and I planted 50 something flowers.  I am not sure who is more excited about the party… me or Ford?????

Bunny and Eggs

Yesterday we had to go to school for half a day to make up some of the snow days we were out for back in January. I think the schools were the only thing opened in Mayberry. I was so jealous that Trey got to go turkey hunting while I was being a glorified babysitter until 12:00.

I wanted to take Ford to see the Easter Bunny. I found out that he would be in town and decided we should go earlier in the week. Ford is very inquisitive and does better if he knows what is going on. Therefore, I had been talking to him about going to see the Easter Bunny all week. When we got to the store he was off eating carrots but quickly finished and came out. Ford went running straight to him. I was amazed.

Ford making sure the Easter Bunny knew to bring him toys on Sunday.
Today we went to Memphis to celebrate Caroline’s third birthday.  We started the morning off bright and early with some yummy donuts followed by an Easter egg hunt at Bellevue Baptist Church.

I am having a hard time trying to convince Ford that he is a “big boy.”  He still has a bottle (mother of the year, I know…), a pacifier and today he decided to get in his cousin, Baby Jack’s, car seat/carrier.

Ford trying to patiently wait until they said “GO.”

In terms of churches this one is massive!!!  They had 55,000 eggs for the children to grab.  It wasn’t much of a “hunt” since all the eggs were out and visible.

Ford ran through all of the eggs just kicking them.

When he realized there was candy inside all he wanted to do was eat what he had found.  He was finished putting them in his basket.

Notice the tear…. I tried to take his candy away.  That didn’t go over well at all.

Our yard and bushes look really pretty right now…

I have 4 weeks of school left. I am so excited. This has been a tough year. I guess you get some good ones and some rough ones. This one has about done me in. I feel like I have aged a lot this year. At this rate I could look 55 before I turn 30.

On a good note… Trey still has no opponent for State Representative. I pray that it stays that way!

My little man will be 2 next Sunday. I really plan to soak up all the time I can this last week that he is 1. He is growing up way too fast.

Happy Easter!
