Eminence, MO, redneck trip

BoomPa is scared of the corona, so he canceled the beach trip.  I really wanted to go somewhere, and with little notice your options are slim.  Trey planned a trip to canoe the Jacks Fork River in Eminence, MO.

Trey told her a few times not to open her umbrella in the car.  She minds so well.

Eminence was about 4.5 hours away from Mayberry, however, it took us 6 hours since Fancy refused to use the GPS.  It's a small town, I'd even define it as quaint.

Trey found this place on the internet which had a lovely website.  Sometimes you find yourself victim to false advertisement.

A view from the balcony.

Our room

The kids were very eager to check out the water situation.

It.  Was.  Cold.

This is not the brave child.

This is the brave child.

That night Trey cooked under the pavilion.

We were hot and sweaty.

After a little slumber, we got up, got ready, and headed out for breakfast.  This is a neat cafe that we stumbled upon last year.

Do you see what I see?

Doesn't everyone carry their dog like this?

Trey wanted to canoe 15 miles.  I was very nervous about that activity.  Harvey's Canoe Rental picked us up and drove us to Alley Springs to get started.

We stopped for some fishing.

I borrowed these kicks from a friend.

Lunch stop

I wasn't naked.... I had on a swim suit.

Doing a little rock collecting

And my car got stuck.  Neither Trey nor I will take credit for getting it stuck.

A friendly redneck pulled us out

That night we ate at the Dairy Shack.  This place was hopping.  I think between standing in line and waiting on our food it was an hour.

Last night....

Of course I got in trouble for not remembering to put sunscreen on Trey's feet.

Court House

On the way home we stopped at Lambert's Cafe.

Trey ordered frog legs...

It's always a treat when they get a Sprite when we eat out.

And momma got an unsweet tea!

Good times!

Thank goodness that Easter Bunny stopped by.... Trying to take pictures of my kids isn't the easiest thing ever..... We recreated a 2016...
