I WON!

Trey conned me into going to a Tate County Republicans dinner with him tonight at Northwest Community College. I was a good sport and went despite the fact that I do not feel too hot anymore.

We had a nice dinner, listened to some music, and Lieutenant Governor, Phil Bryant, talked about various things going on in our state. At the conclusion of the meeting they gave away three door prizes. They had a baker’s rack and two free carpet cleanings. I leaned over and whispered to Trey that we would probably win one of the carpet cleanings since we don’t have a stitch of carpet in our house. Low and behold, yours truly was called out as the big winner of the baker’s rack. I was beyond embarrassed and amazed since I have never won anything in my life.

As you can tell from the attached picture, it’s made of iron and granite. I have no clue where it is going in our house since it’s massive, but I was pretty pumped about my prize!!!

Baby Shower #3

The third grade teachers at my school gave me a baby shower this week. It was so nice and I got a lot of cute stuff. I will have to say that this baby is definitely fixed up and ready for his arrival into the world.
Trey was especially excited about the gift certificate to eat at the Como Steak House. I believe we may save it until Ford arrives and we are in need of a night out of the house.

My Students

I am obviously getting bigger being that I am 36 weeks pregnant. My children at school love to ask me if they baby is kicking and to feel my belly. They also enjoy waddling down the hall, holding their backs, and some even put their jackets inside their shirts to pretend they are pregnant. They seem to have a good time “picking on their teacher” which I don’t mind because I pick right back.

I picked up my group of 24 lovelies from art one day this week and two of my cute little girls handed me this drawing. I tried to scan it the best I could but some got cut off. They made an acrostic out of my name: Mrs. Lamar, and then drew a nice illustration. One of the girls said you always wear black pants (I realized I do wear them A LOT), big earrings, and your hair in a pony tail. I am not quite sure where the orange shirt came from being that orange is my least favorite color, but I thought they drew me well. I got a good laugh out of their little art project and decided to share it with you.

Four more weeks until kick off and hopefully Ford will be here. I am crossing my fingers that I don’t have to go over my due date being that life as I know it is no longer very comfortable. Me and my swollen legs plan to sit here and wait on the little one to come.

Until next time….

As everyone knows Trey and I are having a baby. That being said, we have had to do some rearranging around our house. Since our house has three bedrooms we naturally had a master suite, guest room, and Trey had his own room which was also an office. Well, since Ford will need a room Trey got booted and no longer has his room filled with deer, ducks, and manly things.

I can see where losing your room could cause some stress in your life. Where does one put things? Simple, ADD ON TO YOUR HOUSE! That is exactly what HE has done. We had a small (3 or 4 foot wide) outside storage room. Everything he could have needed was in there. It was plenty big/long for all his manly possessions.

To make himself feel better about the recent loss of his room we now have a BIGGER storage room. He added another 8 feet for a grand total of 270 square feet. Now he could put the lovely boat inside the storage room and get it out of my carport. That is another battle in itself.

For your enjoyment and pleasure I have added some pictures of the building process of the “MAN ROOM.” We plan to add some landscaping across the front.
