Smooches are Mooches

Despite the fact that I will be 38 weeks pregnant on Friday, I refuse to slow down.  My thoughts/theory on this are: I will soon be home-bound for weeks so I might as well enjoy the fresh air while I can.  Can I get an Amen???

Last Friday after I picked the boys up from school we headed to Oxford to see my granddaddy at the VA.  I hadn't seen him in about 6 weeks, so I decided to get in a visit before Annie’s arrival.  Ford and Bit both wanted to push him down the hall.  This brought back so many memories of me pushing his mother, my great-grandmother, in her wheel chair at the nursing home when I was a child.
Missing naps can be tough.  You gotta catch one where you can.
I've said it before, but my boys love some Curious George.  It's the one show they can both agree on.  I caught this cuteness before school the other day.
 Riding the horsie...
The other day I asked JB: " Do you want some smooches?"  He replied with: "What's dat?"  I told him they were kisses.  Now he wants "mooches" all day long!!!!

When he gets mad at me he calls me a "meanie" or he says, "I no love you."  Ford will quickly pipe in and say, "I love you, momma!!"  Ohhh the joys of children!
The other day John Brantley fell asleep in the car.  I picked him up and we came inside.  He was being very still and I couldn't tell if he was asleep in my lap or not, so I took a picture.  I thought this was a lovely shot of my ever expanding belly, which looks like a watermelon right here.
Today was baby doctor day.  I only have 1 more appointment before she arrives so I thought I'd document the occasion.  Yes, I have on the same green shirt again as in the picture above.  It's one of the only shirts that will cover my melon belly.

I'm 37 weeks and 5 days.  And JUST as I suspected, the pounds came on this week... a grand total of 4 might I add.  That's impressive.  I guess having Mexican twice and a huge meal at the steak house during the week didn't help.  So if you're calculating this I have completely messed my goal up of gaining 32 lbs. or less like I did with Ford.  I've now gained 35!!!!!!!!!
I asked my doctor if it was normal not to feel as much movement now as I had been feeling.  I assured her that I still felt movement, but not like I had in the last few weeks.  She said yes, but decided on an ultra sound to check on Miss Priss.  I didn't object since I hadn't seen her since 21 weeks.  Ohhhhhhhhhhh she was just as cute as pie!!!!   Weighing in at 7.13 pounds.  She measured and checked out just perfect so I can just relax and W-A-I-T on her to come.  Whenever that might be.

I don't know if you can tell or not but that's Annie.  Gran and Puddin couldn't figure out how to look at this picture.  The top is her forehead... then you see her eyes and nose.  She has her hands over most of her mouth, but I can see that top lip... it's big like her momma's.  And of course there's a cheek which I will be "smooching" on in a few days.  Annie is being EVICTED on February 23rd unless she comes before then on her own.
I would like to extend a warm welcome to anyone who wants to come visit us in the hospital.  I plan to stay on my mini-vacation until the insurance company kicks me out.  I see this as an amazing opportunity.  I won't be cleaning, running errands, doing laundry, bathing kids, feeding kids food they refuse to eat, or cooking.  I will lie my happy self in that hospital bed and rest (as much as humanly possible) until I'm asked to leave.  Usually "the crazy" (that would be the post partum hormones, people) don't set in for 3-4 days so rest assured that a hospital visit is Oooo-kay.  Now I can't promise anything after about day 3 or 4.

To add to my new momma crazy, we are moving just days after she arrives.  I'll be even nuttier.  Therefore, if you choose to visit us at home please beware.  Always know that food is welcome at anytime!

Love to all....

It was NOT the truth

Have you ever heard the phrase that someone has “squirrels in their head”?  That would mean, by my definition, that they are crazy and/or not in good mental health.  Now in a few weeks or days, depending on when Annie arrives, I might have a few squirrels, but I believe my current condition is squirrel free!!!

Now, Wednesday I went to the baby doctor for my weekly check-up.  I hopped up on that scale all ready to see the results of what I had accomplished/gained in the last few days.  I saw the nurse, who has squirrels, might I add, scooting that leaver over farther than I thought was necessary.  It did NOT make it to the next whole number and I saw that with my own two eyes.  When we got into the holding cell, my room, I asked if I had gained 1 pound or 1.5 pounds.  She chuckled and said, “You gained two!”  I can’t write what I was really thinking on here because too many people I know and don’t know read my blog, but WHAT WAS SHE THINKING????  Pregnant woman and their mental state aren't always good, but rounding UP on such a delicate matter is 100% completely unacceptable.

So according to the records I have now gained 31 pounds, which is a LIE…. It’s 30.5!!!!!!!  So now it’s her fault that I feel like I have squirrels in my head before I’m actually due for some!

And what do you do to deal with the stress of weight gain, swelling, sleepless nights, and body aches????.....

Swolt!!!
With this pregnancy, just like the others, I crave drinks.  Food is lovely too, as we can tell from the excess poundage I am shuffling around, but drinks are where it’s at!!!  Going to Wal-Mart when I am thirty can prove to be a problem for the old budget.  See exhibit A:
That’s 4 organic milks at $6.98 a pop.  I dropped $30.00 on MILK!!!!  I don’t even drink milk either, but do love it in my cereal.  The others were pure necessities too!

We do some serious George watching around here.  The boys LOVE some Curious George and I do too.  I’m sort of the TV Nazi when it comes to monitoring what I let them watch.  I like sweet shows… no questionable language or new terminology, no fighting, no weapons etc.  George meets my standards for a good show, and BOTH boys love him.  Ford would really really like to watch Ninja Turtles, but I just can’t go there.  He watched one day and I heard them say, “Let’s go kick their butts!”  That did it for me.  No more Turtles!!!

Watching some George….
School days are special and sacred.  I get to put it in high gear and do errands, cleaning, laundry, cooking, and momma things that I don’t need two assistants helping with.  I love to take their pictures before they leave in all their cuteness….
These boys are ready for their Annie to arrive....  Ohhhh how their worlds will soon be ROCKED!!!!

Deep thoughts by a pregnant Jill

Pregnancy Update….

I need to know who said that pregnancy is 9 months???  Because, according to my calculations I should be D-O-N-E baking.  I am 36 weeks which = 9 months.  Now, don’t take this as complaining, because that I am not.  I am no fool.  I know that it is easier with Little Miss in here all nice and incubating than when she makes her grand debut.  And grand I’m sure it’ll be!!!

I went to the doctor on Thursday for my 36 weeks appointment and check-up.  I am pleased to announce (tooting my horn a bit) that I did NOT gain any weight this week.  I am 29 pounds and holding.  Ole Nursie tried to tell me that I had gained 2 pounds, and I said, “Ohhh no.”  I guess she didn't believe me so she checked my chart, and I was correct.  No extra poundage here.  Now I am sure when I go this week I’ll gain like 8 pounds or something cool like that, but I was happy with a nice 0!!!

I hadn't dilated or thinned out.  The doctor said that my cervix was very thin and he could feel her head.  Honestly, that kind of grossed me out.  I also told him NOT to break my water because it was NOT time for her to come.

The upper sides of my legs have started to ache.  I am sure it’s the 29 pounds I am carrying around that are not part of my normal physique.  That’s okay.  This too shall pass.  The Beast is still representing in full force.  Okay… prayer request time.  I would like for y’all to all please pray that when Annie comes out that the hernia will go back into permanent hibernation.  I honestly cannot fathom having a surgery to remove the dang thing.  I don’t have time for that!
I’m pretty much over house building.  Our builders have been fabulous, but the other clowns not so much.  The cabinet man will send me into full blown pregnant woman crazy mode if he doesn’t get a fire under his butt soon.  By the time he delivers my kitchen cabinets it’ll be about a half of a month late.  I have been sugar and spice and everything nice to all these jokers working on my house, but I think he felt my frustration yesterday when I called.  I informed him that he is holding me up on my floors, counter tops, appliances, and I added I was having a baby and we needed to get the SHOW ON THE ROAD!!!  They don’t care.  Not one flipping bit.  It’s discouraging that I’ll be moving with a newborn in tow now, and that was NOT the original plan.
This was my bedroom the other day.  Lovely huh????  I have since cleaned it, some… but it’s a disaster knowing you can’t unpack and get settled because it’s time to move again.  My baby girl has to sleep somewhere over there too… in a pack-n-play.  I PROMISE, under normal circumstances, this is not my personality type.  I have sort of “given up” trying.
John Brantley’s sleeping habits are a pure nightmare.  He is like a newborn.  At least I am still 100% in the waking up at all hours of the night faze.  I put him to sleep in his room and he wanders to my room EVERY SINGLE NIGHT.  There is no crying.  He just comes and joins me.  Now, this is a problem.  Annie will be here soon and also in my room, so his presence won’t work.  Bitty needs somebody.  He needs to cuddle.  He wants to touch you or hold your hand.  My lack of sleep is not cool and I am in desperate need of rest.  I have pawned him off on Ford!!!!!!  The last two night, against Ford’s will, Bitty has bunked up for his Bubba.  He stayed in there ALL NIGHT!!!!!!  I got this picture of us before I got up the other night.

You turn your back for 30 seconds and.....

Ford at the same age....   what's up with my boys and green faces????

Back to the baby doctor tomorrow.....

A shower for my baby girl and a cape for Ford

I love sweet people.  Don’t you??  You know the kind that you can really tell like you and care about you.  The older I get the more I am aware that “true friends” are few and far between.  So the ones you do have, you need to embrace and hang on to.

After I found out I was pregnant with a girl, a friend of mine insisted on hosting a shower at her house.  I hesitantly agreed, because most people don’t have a baby shower for a third baby.   But she said since I was having a girl that I needed a shower.  I concurred.  Several others that are near and dear to me offered to help host and so a baby shower was born.
I gave strict instructions to keep things simple.  No one listens to me obviously.  They went all out and above and beyond.  The afternoon was so perfect.

Pink roses are my favorite.
Don’t I look slim in this picture to be 35 weeks pregnant?????  Ha ha ha ha ha… I had on Spanx.  Non-maternity kind.  I couldn't breathe and probably upset my child all day long.  Sorry Annie… My legs were too white to skimp on the hosiery.

My mom, Gran, me, and Annie (baking away)
I L-O-V-E the initial monogram.  This will go above her bed when and if we ever get moved.
Aren't these the cutest things???  Her initials are on them.
My sweet sweet hostesses... Amy, Julie, Elizabeth, Dana (whom I call Tiner), and Meg
Taylor, Jessica (Bogan) and me.  These girls and I lived together the summer of 2003, and we were in each other's weddings… Ohhh the memories!
Taylor came up from Jackson.  Bobba, Trey's grandmother
A few of the gifts Annie was "showered" with!
My nieces, Caroline and Molly Cate, helped me open the presents
Rhonda (Big Momma), Jeanette (Boo), and My mother in law, Ann (Puddin)
 My helpers
Thank you to all who came and helped to celebrate my little girl who is coming ANY day now!!!!!
A few blogs ago I said that I was slightly stressed about Ford’s 100th day of school because we had to make a cape.  Well, we bought Ole Miss material (imagine that), I cut it, and sewed the seams.  The other part of the instructions was to put 100 things on it.  Well, Ford didn't want to mess up his cape one single bit.  I decided to try stickers since you can pull them off easily.  Well, they kept falling off so we gave up and insisted there were 100 M’s on there anyway.

Monday morning he was ready… Can you tell??????
Around 8:45 the kiddos arrived via “The Cheese” (school bus) at McDonald’s.  I had offered to come and help distribute their breakfast.
I think the mask adds so much to his attire!
This child is priceless..... there is not another like him.
 MHS- 4K class of 2027!!!!!

Hey Lainey!!!!

When we found out Lainey Wilson was coming to Philadelphia and we could go, we jumped at the chance to see her concert. We got to get on Mar...
