Open House... and an excited momma!

Okay, so even though I am not currently in the classroom as a teacher doesn’t mean that it isn’t still running through my blood at a rapid pace.  It is.  It does.  I think it always will.  I get all kinds of excited looking at school supplies or anything that could be used in a classroom.  Now that both boys are in school I get to experience things on their level.

Last night was “Open House” at their school.  This means the family members get a chance to “ewwww” and “ahhhh” over their art work, classwork, classroom, cubby, seat in class, etc.  We went.  We “ewwwwed” and we “ahhhhed”.  Okay, I’m lying… I was the one who got all excited, took the pictures, and asked the questions!!!

The Bit's stuff...
Please note that his most favorite color in the WORLD is purple, and he chooses it whenever possible!
 See.... purple again!
And again.... (This means he was the snack helper that day)!!!
 His toast.... Popping into 3k
Purple house... those blue flying birds are actually not birds, yet they are his family!  I wonder which one is me???!!???
I'm assuming they made him use green because he would have picked purple!
They are studying the first letters of their name.  Poor Bitty will be 12 before he can spell his long name!
John Brantley LOVES pockets.   He thinks they are essential for all outfits.  Too bad this one didn't come with pockets... he was trying.
I'm pretty sure I wasn't his favorite by this point!
 Ford's stuff....
I'm still in awww that the kid is in real deal kindergarten.  He will go to school all day for years and years now.  I might have a lump in my throat!
 His Pete the Cat
 Ford's seat and journal
This journal really got me excited.  Just ask any of my former students about Mrs. Lamar and journals.  They were a MUST in my room.  We had them every week.  I had crazy topics like: "Why does jello jiggle?"   "What did the dog say to the cat?"  "How do Ruffles have ridges?"   You name it... I would make them write 60 words per journal topic.  And we had them each week... every day.  I'm pretty sure some kids hated me that didn't like to write.  But hey... you learn a lot about your kids that way!  So, when I saw that Ford had a journal I about squealed!
He had some super work on the wall!!!!
 The behavior system
 Sight Words: "I"
 Here's his picture
Ohhhh how I loved Open House!!!!  They both have fabulous teachers and I couldn't be more excited about their year!!!

The Middle Child

I've heard all that hoopla about "middle child syndrome", but I'm not so sure I know how I feel about it.  I wasn't a middle child.  I could have been if my parents chose to reproduce anymore, but they were satisfied with me and called it quits.  I'm the baby.

"The Bit" would be the middle child.  He is stubborn and hard headed.  These qualities definitely come from his father.  At the same time he's loving and precious.  Yep, you guessed it, those qualities come from his momma!!!!   Ha!  But regardless, he's our middle child.

On Tuesdays and Thursdays he stays home with me from 3K.  When Ford is at school and Annie is napping we spend lots of quality time together.  He demands my time and attention, or he throws a fit.
Some days going to school is tough!
He tells me about 75 times a day "You're der (the) bestest momma."   Then within 2 minutes he can be mad as a hornet at me and say "YOU'RE MEAN!"   Ha!!!
The boy loves to help.  He is a huge fan of cooking. (His future wife can thank me now!!!).  We made sausage muffins this week.
And cookies
I decided I would reinforce the skills they're covering in class.  This week is letter Aa.  We've colored no less than 20 letter "Aa" so far.
He loves puzzles.  We have a shelf full.  I like to grab some every now and then at my favorite store, Dollar Tree.  He's a master at a 24 piece puzzle.
He's our Bit.  Even though he makes my blood pressure rise about 15 times a day, I don't know what I'd do without him.  I suppose God is using him to teach me patience!!!!   Love the little guy.

Boat Police

We are trying our best to stay on the go as much as possible here lately.  We had been tossing the idea around about going to Pickwick Lake.  The topic came up several times, but there were always conflicts.  Last week Pops said we might go.  I asked several times about the field trip and never could get an answer.  Well in true Lamar fashion I find out late Friday morning that we will leave at 3:00.  I got myself into HIGH gear.  We didn't leave at 3:00 of course because time management isn't Fancy's strong point, but we got off a little after 4:00.

The boys watched cartoons, Annie cat napped, and we drove onward!!

Saturday we hit the lake....  I'm partial, but I'm not sure how it could get any cuter than this.
We snacked on the boat.
Puddin kept Annie's ears covered.  No one likes an earache.
Bitty was the boat police.  You do wrong... He called you out in it!!!   Someone's gotta keep the crew in line.
Strong boys pulling up the anchor
Napping was difficult for this little butter ball.  I don't think riding fast was her favorite.
Someone must have been stressing the boat police out at this point!
We saw Goat Island
Captain and co-captain.  I'll let you decide who is who!!!!
I guess I needed a nap too!!!
Even the boat police took a rest.
Sunday we got the tube out.  The ride wasn't as thrilling with my babies aboard.  Only safe riding with those tikes.
Another captain... She's looking a bit thin in this picture!!!!
Karma will get you every time.  Trey threw Ford in the water against his wishes.  Well Fancy lost those shades he was sporting.  Live and learn!
The boys were making sure Uncle Vance and Miss Emily were ok while tubing.  Uncle Vance stood up and it about sent the boat police over the edge.  Then he fell in the water and Ford went nuts.  He thought we had lost him!!!
Rare occasion for me to venture out with no make up.  Guess the lake is a good spot to go natural!
We had a great trip to the lake.  Let's go again next weekend, Puddin and Pops!!!!

He's Half Their Size

These are two of Bitty's best friends, Trever and Price.   I love that they are all the same age, yet Bitty is half their size!!!   Thos...
