Four New Ones

I would not rate my blogging skills as superior here lately. I haven’t blogged since last Tuesday, which is nearly an eternity for me, but hey… I am back at work and you have to take what you can get.

Last Friday, Trey and I left to go to Nashville. This time “I” was in the wedding and not him! It was kind of early for me to be asking for a day off, but this was a necessity. Instead of having a bride’s maid’s brunch, Sarah wanted to do a spa party. I think it was a LOEVLY idea! We started off by getting our feet done. This was a treat for me because I had not had my toes done since I was pregnant. The only reason I got them done then was because I couldn’t see my feet!!! The lady working on me asked if I wanted the “razor” on my feet. I said “YEAH!” She started shaving the dead skin off my feet and the bride said “Sick, Jill. Do you never get pedicures?” I said “No.” I could have saved a burn victim with all she got off. I know… I know… Too much information. Just giving you all a visual.

Trey and I had a lot of fun getting away for the weekend. I enjoyed seeing all of my college buddies as well…

During the ceremony a bug jumped out of my bouquet and onto my arm. I nearly croaked. I tried not to make a scene about the attack, but swatted my pesky friend off. Then I kept itching to death. Luckily the preacher said several prayers and I was able to scratch my arms, head, face, and neck. I mean… seriously, this would only happen to me!
The wedding reception was at the Parthenon in Nashville…
Last week was a big week for Fordman. He got 4 teeth. We had gone for 6 months without getting a tooth and then he got four. It was big time. I should have known this was coming since he was like a drool factory.
I let Ford play in Trey’s truck the other day. He had such a big time. He was NOT happy when his fun was over.

Then we went swimming which made things all better…

When Trey and I were engaged he rode me down this deserted road around Senatobia and said he could envision building a house on some land out there one day. I did not have the same vision and basically squalled and cried to him that our future children would be eaten by coyotes and I would live in fear. I believe he may have wanted to call off the nuptials at that point, but he stuck with me. I pleaded that I wanted neighbors while he begged for land. We found our happy medium. A few weeks ago we purchased 9 acres of land on the back side of the country club. We don’t have plans to build anytime soon, but we are proud of our new purchase and future residence.

And we ended our day in the bath tub.

There just isn't enough time

Has anyone ever thought that there just isn’t enough time in the day? I have been feeling that way for the past almost 2 weeks now. This would be the time frame since I started back to work. I have said it before and I am saying it again… Hats off to all working moms. I am still trying to figure out how I can sleep later and still get ready for work, and get everything done in a day. I just CAN’T make myself get up at 5:00 so my alarm is set for 5:05 A.M. every morning. At that point I want to cry because I love to sleep more than anyone I know and Trey gets to stay in bed until 6:30.

School is back in full swing and that means I am much busier than I was during the summer and last school year. I actually have a lot of responsibilities this year!!! In saying, don’t expect more than one blog a week unless something miraculous happens.

Last Thursday was Trey’s 30th birthday and I fully intended on writing a TOP QUALITY blog about my sweet husband, but one of my favorite people died that night. My Nanny.

I could sit here and write all about my Nanny and how she was a great Christian woman, a fantastic cook, a wonderful mother, a loving grandmother, and one of the most giving people I knew, but that will upset me. All I really want is for anyone reading this who would please remember to pray for my family and me as we deal with the loss of someone so dear to us.

Time for some Ford:

Eating a snack after a hot day
A bottle at bed time
If you are doing the math, YES, Ford is 15 ½ months old and still taking a bottle. I might be eligible for mother of the year on this one! It’s not him. It’s me. I have convinced myself that when the bottle is gone that my baby won’t be a baby anymore but a big boy. Considering I took a bottle until I was 2 years old and Ford is only 15 months, I think we are doing pretty good. I haven’t asked Puddin yet, but we are missing a bottle and I am starting to wonder if she “maybe” took it in hopes that I would get the hint on getting rid of the thing. Puddin…. Are you guilty?????

Have a great week and Happy Tuesday!

No Before But Some After

So while I should be busy preparing my speech for meet the teacher tomorrow night, writing my lesson plans, working on the curriculum guide, or trying to learn all my new students’ names, I am blogging instead. Don’t get my wrong, I have been working on those things, but that fun can only last so long.

I convinced myself that all my faithful and not so faithful readers are just DYING to see how my hair turned out from my make-over, “if you will.” So last night all 6 of us loaded up and headed north to Memphis for our hair and make-up make-overs. I am a little perturbed that I didn’t take any before pictures, but I do have some after ones. We had a lot of fun being pampered and relaxing for a few hours while our hubby’s were at home with the kiddos.

So let's take a look at some of the lucky candidates….
And drum roll please… Not because of the beauty of the hair, but the fact that it is down!!!!!

And I know what your next question is…. Did you wear it like that to school today?? Heck no! It was right back in my signature pony tail.

The lady who worked on my hair had quite the challenge. I have been the president of the back hair club association for years now. I warned her that I DO NOT let people dry my hair. The last time I let someone style my hair I left looking like George Washington. So needless to say, I was a bit nervous. She also was kind enough to tell me that in order to get all the damaged hair off of my head she would need to cut about 8 inches. Ummmm no! I let her cut 2 and only 2. Damage you are wondering??? Yes, I have lots of damage and little Ford is to thank for that. Since I have given birth I have lost an incredible amount of hair. So I have a lot of new growth and broken hairs that this dear lady had to work with. I have considered buying a wig, but my ponytail will do for now.

And this just wouldn’t be a good blog entry without some pictures of the little monster himself…
