On Friday Trey, Ford, and I left for Pickwick Lake with Puddin and Pop (Trey’s parents). We drove up after lunch and spent the afternoon on the boat cruising around the lake. It was a beautiful day and that water wasn’t too cold. Ford has a great time. He LOVES being outdoors. He enjoyed the wind blowing his hair up like Einstein’s and then took a wonderful nap in Puddin’s arms. Trey and I jumped in the water but with safety gear of course. We floated on life jackets and noodles until Trey started talking about gators and things so I bailed on him. I know there are not gators in the lake but if something would have touched my feet I would have PANICKED! That night we went to eat at the Broken Spoke which was delicious. I was extremely nervous taking Ford in there after 7:00. Messing with him at that hour is like playing with fire. If you can’t tell from the pictures the little man loves to eat. So, being the smart momma that I am I packed him a HUGE bottle. And of course, he drank it all and then passed smooth out in his car seat. We ended up having a great meal and evening and Ford slept until 6:30 the next morning!!!
On a different note… school starts back here on Thursday. I must admit I am sad not to be going back. However, I absolutely love being a stay at home mom and would have it no other way. I know some of my former students read my blog and I wanted to say GOOD LUCK in 4th grade and I love you. I will be sure to come and visit ya’ll some this year!!
Teaching really is a passion of mine and I do plan to get back into the classroom one day. It’s so much fun being with kids and in a way you never really have to grow up. Trey doesn’t think my humor is as funny as I do, but my students always enjoyed it! There is no telling what they went home and told their parents… I would be scared to know.

Almost 3 months old...

Ford is getting so big!!!! I had to clean out his closet and drawers the other day. He is actually able to wear some 6 months clothes now.
He is so much fun. He talks all the time and laughs when you talk back. I am having the best time being his mom. It’s a blessing everyday!
One more thing... we do not have a purple Bumbo seat.. that was taken at his Gran's house. Ours is blue!!

REDBIRDS GAME

Uncle Ken called on Monday night and invited us to sit in a box at the Redbirds game. After some convincing by Trey, I decided to go. I am big about making plans far in advance and not flying by the seat of my pants. Well, I went with less than 2 hours notice which is good for me. I couldn’t tell you one thing that happened during the game. I was too busy playing with Ford and munching on all the junk food!!!

The Chinaman
I think it is important to give people good gifts. I actually really enjoy buying presents for other people. I have found it to be harder to buy for the men in my life rather than the women. Several years ago when my older brother was probably a junior or senior in college I bought him one of the most memorable gifts he has ever received; a small statue of a Chinese man. Now, I am sure you are wondering why in the world did I buy that for him. Like I said, men are hard to shop for and I thoroughly enjoy a gag gift. Needless to say, his eyes got big and everyone laughed when he opened his birthday present.
When Ken would come home from school I would put the statue in his suitcase and he would end up taking it back to Ole Miss with him. And the cycle continued that way for several years. After we both got married I decided that I would plant the Chinese man in their house or car when I went to visit. And so the games began. For almost 4 years now Ken, Ashley, Trey and myself have had fun hiding the “Chinaman” amongst each others things. It has been wrapped as a Christmas gift, been put in a tub of maternity clothes, ended up in a shower, in a bbq grill, been planted under a seat in a car, and someone (no names mentioned) broke into my house once and left him on my table when I was out of town. Today is my 27th birthday and the statue appeared on my backdoor step this afternoon. So, now it is my turn to think of a creative way to return the Chinaman to its rightful owners!!!!!!!

Happy Anniversary Trey

I can’t believe I have been married for four years!!!!!! WOW! I met Trey in December of 2002 and we were married on July 9, 2005. It’s been an exciting 4 years of marriage. We lived in Jackson while Trey was in law school at MC and I taught in the Jackson Public Schools. In May 2007 we moved to Senatobia. Trey went to school again, in St. Louis, at Washington University, to get his LLM (Masters of Law in Taxation). I stayed home to teach at Senatobia Middle School while he was away. Now he is finished with school and working and I am staying at home with our precious baby. Life is grand!
Trey I love you with all of my heart. You are a wonderful husband and father and I thank the Lord for you everyday. I am looking forward to many more years with you!!

Big weekend
Little Ford had a big weekend. We started off on Friday with a trip to the pediatrician for his 8 weeks shots. Needless to say I cried more than Ford did. I don’t have any pictures to share of the trip to the doctor’s office, but Trey definitely got some good video footage.
On Saturday Trey wanted to go to Cleveland to eat with some friends. I just wasn’t ready to leave Ford with a babysitter so he came along for the ride. He was an absolute angel. I thought someone had switched my child. He slept the entire time we were in the restaurant and the ride home. It was great!
On Sunday we decided to take Ford to church for the first time. I was completely fine with the idea until we walked into the nursery and I only saw two women working in there. I panicked a bit because it could take both of them to handle Ford! They gave us a pager and Trey and I went to church. Luckily, the pager never went off and they said he did great. We ended our Sunday by going swimming in Puddin and Pop’s pool!
Excited about the road trip to Cleveland
