Quarantining is for real

Wow!!!!!  Things sure can change in a week.  Last week I posted about people losing their minds over The Corona Virus, and well, they still are.  It's actually a lot worse than everyone expected it to be.  I NEVER, in my wildest dreams, would have thought when I said goodbye to my 50 students for Spring Break that they wouldn't be coming back soon.  Never!!  I feel robbed.  If you aren't a teacher, you truly can't fathom or understand the way we educators feel.  It's almost like a death.

I want my normal back.  I miss my "normal life".  You know the life where you aren't afraid to go anywhere.  The life where you can go to church, work, school, gymnastics, baseball games, birthday parties, Wal-Mart, a friend's house, a restaurant, etc. without it being closed or a scary germ filled environment.  Life has stopped.  We are literally being asked to STAY IN OUR HOMES.  My family, we are social people.  So this social quarantining is rough.  It's sad.  My kids miss church, school, and their friends.  I miss their friends too.  I have been playing Barbies A LOT more than I want to with Annie.  Usually her friends help me out with that.  I am so thankful the boys have each other.  They have played baseball for hours in the yard when it's not raining or in the garage.

School now consists of being taught at home.  The teachers have prepared packets for the students and we work from home.  Therefore, I have to teach my three and have lessons for my three class at school.  It's stressful.  Everyone is feeling this.

I do, however, firmly believe this is ALL in God's hands, it's part of his plan, and he will be glorified in the end.  Life has slowed way down.  Way down.  This is a good thing though.  We have been able to play games as a family, have supper together, dance parties, family movie time, and just sit and be still.  Was God trying to tell everyone that we need him?  Is he trying to show us our priorities weren't in the right place?  I believe he's saying much more than that and we just need to listen.  It's not a time to be fearful and be scared.  Fear shows a lack of faith.  We aren't in control of this virus.  God is.  He knows the outcome.  We don't.  Moving forward I hope everyone learns from this time,  has a new perspective on life, and puts God where he belongs, FIRST.

My mom, oh how I miss her....she and I went shopping in September of 2015 and she bought this shirt for Bitty.  It does my heart so much good that it still fits.

Mary Tindle.  She is the BEST children's minister God could have made and I am thankful she has poured into my children.  Who else will plank with your child while we wait on Ford to get his musical lines rehearsed?

I bought a big honey baked ham some time back.  We pulled that bad boy out of the freezer and have been snacking.  Bitty did't like the edges.  I mean why would he?

There has been sooooooo much togetherness.  My nerves have been on edge.  I bet they each say "Momma!!!!" 45,000 times a day.  The other night we were watching TV and I said no one could sit in the chair with me....so they sat at my feet.

When the bananas are ripe you gotta make banana nut muffins.

Doing our lessons

I gave Ford a journal topic.  I'm going to make him write about what's going on in our lives.  I told him it will be neat to look back later in life.

Bitty's teacher sends daily challenges.  One day it was to see how many items you could find that were 12 inches.

I don't love for my kids to play on devices.  They don't have any of their own.  I have devices from work.   The other day I caved and let them play.  It was the most peace I had experienced all day.

Educational of course...

I started a Facebook page for my classes.  I asked the parents to post pictures of themselves in fourth grade.  They are great!  Here's mine...

The face of defeat.  Kids won that day...I lost.

Another Challenge was to measure the amount of rain we got one day.  2''

Last night we went to the farm to eat with Puddin and Pops....

Desperate times call for desperate measures.....corn hole  (There's my robe again).

I'm going to weigh 200 pounds if we don't go back to work.  I cook and eat all day.  Today I made chocolate cobbler.

Pam and TA told me they didn't have the Corona Virus so we went to their house to check cows with them.  Annie fell in muddy cow poop gunk.

Bitty got stuck.

Ford helped role out the hay.

Good times had by all
