REPORT CARD TIME!!!! Maybe as a child you did or did not look forward to the end of the 6 weeks or 9 weeks depending on how your school graded you. As a parents I do look forward to report card time because not only is my child being graded, but I am too. The parents are the child's first teacher, and I take ownership in what my children bring home.
Ford is in first grade and they get real number grades. No more "S" in all the subjects, but real deal numbers. I know his is hard to see so it says:
Reading- 96.82
Math- 98.93
Science/Social Studies- 98.75
Spelling- 98.30
English- 97.80
To say I am proud of Ford for All A's would be an understatement. I am very pleased. I look through his graded papers ever single week. We go over his missed work, and 100% of things missed were careless mistakes. It wasn't because he didn't understand, it was because he didn't check his work. Hopefully, he will do a better job of checking his papers before he turns them in this 9 weeks.
Sweet Bitty boy is on round TWO of 3K. This has been a great great decision. Last year he was the youngest and smallest. Now he's the oldest and definitely not the biggest. Last school year I would ask questions about his day and get nothing. This year he fills me full of all kinds of information. I have even seen much improvement in the classroom academically. He was tested on letters A-F and numbers 1-3 only. He knew all of his tested letters and numbers, colors, shapes, could count to 33 and write his name.
Let's compare to his first report card last year....
In 2015 he knew no letters, didn't know two shapes, could count to 9, and only could write John. He's improved!!!!!
