Loud shiny things

In the last little bit Trey and I were having a disagreement about who even knows what, well he called me out on something and I made the comment that it was one of my flaws.  He kind of went "ha" like he already knew that.  I asked him what he thought one of his flaws was.  He said, "I think I'm always right."  Well, I am pretty sure the angels sang and rejoiced on that confession, because Lord knows if you know Trey you know that's right.  I do have a point to this story...

I also tend to think I'm right.  Like last week I told Ford to go down the driveway and get the garbage can.  He took off on his 4-wheeler and I quickly started yelling to put that thing up because he wouldn't be able to steer and pull the can on the way back.  Well, Jill was wrong!!!
I'm pretty sure he was saying, "I told you I could do it!!!"
I've mentioned before that I don't do Ipads, Ipods, video games, cell phones etc. for the children.  I want them to play and be imaginative.  Pictures like this make me so happy!
We've been spending many of these hots days at the pool.  It's not exactly relaxing since Sister and Bitty are non-swimmers.  I bought this $7.88 Wal-Mart pool and we bring it along.  Annie and Maggie enjoyed it for 15 seconds.
Ummm so if you come to my house there's a great chance you could break your neck on the massive overflow of toys that clutter the floor.  I remind myself, even though I enjoy a clean floor, that this too shall pass.  One day my kids won't play with toys anymore.  It's true.  Mr. Cool doesn't play with toys.  He's into accessories like those goofy sunglasses from Walgreens!
Since I won't buy him a phone or Ipad he made his own!
And he made a booby trap for the bad guys.
The moment when you walk into the playroom after you've completely cleaned the upstairs and your children have made a secret hideout and no one would ever know it was spotless 20 minutes before... (Yes, that was a nasty run-on sentence.)
I'm the sentimental type.  I like meaningful stuff.  I've always been that way, but it worsens with age.  Tonight I got my third and final hand print and footprint platter for the kiddos.
We have great neighbors/family across the street.  Pam and TA love my babies like they were their own.  We were at he pool on the 4th when I got a text asking if the boys wanted to go check cows out in the pasture.  Naturally, Bitty jumped on the chance, but Ford wanted to swim.  They gave the little man some good one on one time for about 3 hours!  He checked cows, washed the ranger, fixed a flat tire and who knows what else.  Ohhhh he had a big big time!
And Ford swam...
On the fourth, Trey cooked, I went to the pool with the kids, we had people over, and the boys played in the rain.
Annie ate Nerds off of the nasty table.
Finley, Nora, Annie, Ford, and Bitty
We love Anna Greer!
After the storm we hopped on the golf cart and rode to watch the fireworks.  Ford mostly ran around with Leland and Langston.
Bitty and Gaines did their thing.
And Annie sat in amazement of those loud shiny things in the sky.
I love my family!
God bless America!
