The faces of freedom- To the Alluvian we go....

I love my life.  I love my people.  But there  is the need to break out, escape, runaway, and have some adult interaction.  I'm saying the kind of interaction that doesn't involve: riding in the car with 2,500 questions, no adolescent fighting, no PBS cartoons, no crying or butt wiping, no he hurt me or looked at me funny, no I'm thirsty or hungry, etc.  Just a good old fashioned mom and pop road trip....
Now all you free birds who move away from your people are nuts.  Trey and I couldn't survive without our people.  We have crazy busy schedules and our people help.  This particular weekend Puddin and Pops (the weekend heroes) kept the little ankle biters we added onto the family tree.  God bless grandparents.
We headed out around 11:00ish on Saturday, destination- Greenwood, MS.  Trey Lamar was burning some rubber.  He was a man on a mission.  We pulled into town right before 1:00 to meet the 4 other couples for lunch at:
Lunch was great.  I ate my food without a child in my lap, didn't take anyone to the bathroom, there was no cutting up of someone else's lunch, or little people crying about what was on their plate.  It was ten adults sitting around a table having adult conversations.

Lunch ran into the late 2:00 hour.  Then we checked into The Alluvian Hotel and went to the 4th floor balcony to enjoy the fresh air.

Julie and me.  Her hubs and Fancy are bff for life.  No lie.  They were born 2 weeks apart and have a brotherly bond.
I was kind of bright out...
I only stayed on the balcony thirty minutes before I ran across the street to the spa.  I waited patiently in the "tranquility room" on my girl to pamper me.
Manicure and pedicure for me...
After I was pampered I freshened up for dinner and went back to the balcony.  Fancy and I listened to a few tunes, chatted, and even danced!!!
The hotel shuttle picked us up at 7:45 and carted is to Lusco's for some delicious grub.
Brooks was trying to take a picture of everyone, and the table, but it just wasn't working out for him.
Beverly's birthday is Tuesday so we surprised her with some cake which was passed around the table.
Good food.  Good friends.  Good times.
And you know you're in the right place when they leave chocolate mints on your pillow.  I ate Fancy's too.  It's okay... he thinks they're gross!
Now we're home, refreshed, and rejuvenated, and SUPER thankful that Puddin and Pops, and Miss Taylor too, looked after the offspring so we could get away for 24 hours!
