Trey and I have been married going on 9 years now and for
almost the past 7 we have resided in Mayberry.
Trey moved here a few weeks before I finished my teaching contract in
Jackson, and I followed two weeks later.
I remember I came to Senatobia on a Wednesday. I decided that I needed some activities
before I began teaching again in August, so I signed up to do Vacation Bible
School at the Baptist church we attend.
I was placed in the 5 years old class as an “assistant” and
the lead teacher was Rosy. She was my
first friend I met in town. She kind of
took me under her wing and acted as my mentor.
Being that she is a lifelong resident of Senatobia, minus college, and is several
years older than me I thought she could show me the ropes.
Fast forward almost 7 years later, Rosy and I are still
friends and I talk to her often. Her
girls love to play with my boys and vice versa.
Last night we joined Rosy, Ben (her husband), and several other couples
to celebrate her birthday. (She’s next
to me in the white). Happy birthday to
my first friend in Senatobia!
Today was my day to keep the 2-3 year olds during big
church. No, Bitty isn't in the age
range, but he gets to come in there with me when it’s my week. At 11:00 he was wide open, but by 11:15 he
was still, quiet, and sitting in my lap.
All three of those things = a not normal Bitty.
When church was over I asked Trey to take us home. John Brantley had 102.5 and wasn't too
spunky. I told Trey and Ford to go on to
Puddin and Pops’s house for lunch and I’d put him to sleep. I don’t think my butt cheeks (yes, mom I just
said that!!!) had hit the chair to rock before my little man was ASLEEP. He slept 2 hours and woke up with more
pep. But as soon as the medicine wore
off we were back to this….
I decided that being out at the farm wasn't best for him so
we loaded up and headed home. Here’s to
hoping he will sleep ALL NIGHT!!!!
