Sesame Street and Smores

I would like to commend and really applaud any single moms or moms who have the responsibility of tending to the children while the father is away at work.  Trey is HOME!!!!  The legislative session is over (sort of) for 2013 and he is back in Mayberry!!!  It was a long three months and I firmly believe I grew some new gray hairs and I know without a doubt that I gained a few more wrinkles on my face from being the sole caretaker of the boys during the week.

We were very fortunate to have Fancy come home on the weekends to spend quality time with, but we missed him while he was away.  Ford doesn't understand elapsed time very well, so it was hard to explain to him when Trey would be home.  John Brantley didn't have a clue what was going on either.  He was excited to see his daddy when he came home though.

Thursday was the big day!!!  Ford and I cleaned the house pretty much all day long.  Then we made Trey a nice welcome home sign and waited.  I have never heard John Brantley squeal so loud and so much as he did when Trey got here.  It was like he knew something was different.  Welcome home Daddy!!!

Trying to show off his welcome home sign taped to the door.

On Friday Ford and I went on the ultimate field trip.  Unfortunately, Bitty didn't get to join in on the fun since he’s a tiny tike.  My friend, Elizabeth, invited us months ago to go see Sesame Street Live!!!

On Thursday after Trey got home I told Ford since he was my best helper and so good while daddy was gone for 3 months that I had a special surprise.  I tried to talk it up really big and used exciting facial expressions about his big treat.  When I told him we were going to see Sesame Street Live he was excited for about 3.2 seconds and then decided he’d rather see Mickey!  Goooo figure!!!  Needless to say, he had a wonderful time.  He danced, sang, swayed, shouted, and did a little jig here and there!

Leland and Ford

Puddin and Pops are getting a new pool liner at their house and this was something that Ford needed to check out!
I believe he’d have stayed there all day and been a great supervisor for the men working on the pool.  He talked their ears off!!!  I’m sure they appreciated when I finally made him leave!
John Brantley has had a bad case of allergies for about 5 days now.  We have done the “blue bulb” nose sucker, saline, Vicks vapor rub, a humidifier, and a warm rag on his face.  Nothing seems to help.  I really think a runny nose or crusty face is disgusting so I am trying my bed to keep him clean!!!
He’s such a big help around the house!
Saturday was soooo pretty outside.  We stayed out most of the day.  Our little buddy, Steven Wait, came to play.  Ford, of course, thought he was the star of the show since he was older than both boys.  John Brantley didn't know what to think of the grass on his legs or his new flip flops.  The child never wears shoes.
My precious little man will be 10 months old this Saturday.
Ford is great about sharing with his brother.
Yesterday was a big day.  Ford spent 7 hours out at the new farm.  He helped Pops mow.  He helped Daddy and Uncle Vance pick-up sticks.  He put out deer millet (deer food… I think that’s what it was called).  He rode the gator, big 4-wheeler, and his 4-wheeler.  Then we ended the night by roasting hot dogs on a fire and making smores.
John Brantley shared his food with Delta.
I wanted a smore so dang bad, but I am not eating chocolate this month and I resisted the urge.  It was hard… real hard!!  We will be roasting some more on about May 1 so I can partake!
Delta was trying to get Bobba’s smore.
The end!
