Growing up I was never the competitive type. Now that I am a mom I feel the need to be competitive with my child. Therefore, last night Ford and I had a practice run on the Easter egg hunting. I hid some eggs and he had to find them. He did a pretty good job. He found them all, but he needed to increase the speed at which he collected the eggs.
I was able to slip away from school for an hour to enjoy the festivities. When I arrived at his school they were singing the “Itsy Bitsy Spider”. As soon as Ford saw me he jumped up and nearly clobbered everyone in his path to give me some hugs.
Then it was time to line up for the big hunt. Trying to get thirteen 2-3 year olds to line up and hold their baskets still was quite the challenge. I told his teachers more than once there was NO WAY I could do what they do every day. I run my classroom in a military-like style and those kids were pure chaos!
Yes, that is my child with the bucket on his head.
Once we got into the gym he seemed to remember our rehearsal last night, and he started grabbing those eggs!
Gran came to the egg hunt and even took Ford home after it was over for some special play time.
I’m not sure why Ford has such a lovely expression here. He wasn’t scared of the bunny.
Then it was back to his classroom for the party. Being the OCD child that he is, he was quite annoyed with the children who kept messing up the pretty table cloth. He straightened it up several times!!!
Here he is screaming the blessing... “God Our Father…”Ford didn’t eat his cupcake, ice cream sandwich, or strawberries. He only ate his chips. His momma would have cleaned her plate!
Two teachers at school have been rather annoyed that Toto hasn’t been named yet. So, they took it upon themselves to come up with a ridiculous list of names for my poor child. Feel free to vote on your favorite.
