Operation Delta Rescue Mission

This has been a week! Where do I begin? Our Sunday school class decided to open the gym at the church on Thursday nights and invite the guys in the youth to come and play a little ball with them. Trey was real excited about the big night and put on this outfit in hopes of intimidating the opponent, I am guessing.

He bragged that he got his lovely “wife beater” shirt when he was in junior high school. It may disappear very soon! I personally thought the high top tennis shoes made the outfit complete. Well, while he was getting all hyped up about the game he accidentally let Delta (our beagle) slip out of the gate without him noticing. When I returned home an hour and a half later Delta was nowhere to be found. I called Trey and he, along with the other guys in our Sunday school class, went searching for Delta. No Delta anywhere.

I went to bed with a sick feeling and even woke up at 1:00 and debated going on the hunt again. Trey got up at 6:00 to search with no luck. We called the animal shelter, the vet, the police (to keep an eye out while patrolling) and just about everyone in our phones who could help in “Operation Delta Rescue.” I left school during my planning period and drove all over tarnation and even made fliers after school. I started putting them up and even recruited some help while Gran kept Ford safe and sound at our house. About 20 minutes into my begging of business owners to let me put my lost dog signs up my mom calls and said “Jill, she’s here.” I told her I knew she was there and I was trying to get home but all the traffic on Main Street was holding me back. I thought my mom was talking about my friend who was coming to help me, but she meant DELTA was home!!!

Where was she you may ask? Well, she was 2 doors down. She had fallen into a 4 foot hole in between someone’s house and deck and was trapped. The lady went outside to water her ferns and heard Delta down there. Boy was she glad to be home. (I plan to take a picture of her hole for the next post. Just haven’t gotten around to it). Delta is the only dog I have ever had and I started feeling extremely guilty about all the neglect she has suffered through since Ford came along. We sure are glad she is home.

Enough writing... I know most people look at my blog for the pictures anyway.

The first time I let Ford play in the sprinkler…

Wednesday, Ford had a bug and I stayed home with him. Even when he is sick he still has a good time playing.

Pointing his finger and saying “bye” is his newest thing. Usually he wants to know what something is or he wants you to look at something he finds interesting.
I decided to sweep the kitchen before I put Ford down for his nap. He had never seen me do that before and insisted on helping me out a little.

I promise my child does change clothes. On Wednesday, when he was sick we had a big day. We played outside with our bat, played in the water, and swept the kitchen.

Day two of watering the yard: Mr. Independent decided he wanted to get down and not be carried. He plopped right down in the driveway and when he got hit in the head with the sprinkler this was his reaction…..
After the melt down we put on our bathing suit…
The whole milk Ford is drinking has really beefed him up a bit… Get a load of the belly and legs will you!!!

Today was Ford’s first trip to the zoo. I think I was more excited than anyone about the big adventure. He enjoyed it about as much as Trey and I expected him to. He seemed fascinated with the bigger animals but really didn’t notice the smaller ones.

Our zoo trip cut into Ford’s nap and by the time we got into the car he was done for. Please check out that double chin!
I hope everyone has had a lovely weekend so far. We sure have and are glad our puppy is home!!!!

I'm so glad Delta is home! Chillie has gotten lose before and I thought I was going freak out.
I think my favorite pic is the one of Trey in his basketball attire. As intimidating as he is, he also looks SO proud :)
