1 Samuel 1:27

I prayed for this child, and the Lord has granted me what I asked him for.  1 Samuel 1:27
Yesterday was a very special day for us as a family, but even more so as John Brantley’s parents.  Our church had baby dedication Sunday and we dedicated our sweet baby boy.  It was a special service and John Brantley looked cute and acted wonderful.  He wore the same Feltman Brothers outfit that Ford had on when he was dedicated.

Yesterday was his first time to ever wear shoes!

He is precious!!!!

In true Lamar fashion, one of our children would be upset.  Yesterday it was Ford.  He just wasn’t feeling it and cried and pitched a large fit.  His newest thing is to say he’s tired when things aren’t going his way!

I got my blog books out on Saturday to look at what I had blogged about for Ford’s baby dedication and I NEVER blogged about his!!!  I felt really bad about that.  So now it’s time for some pictures from Ford’s big day 3 years ago….

Train a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not turn from it.  Proverbs 22:6

Children, obey your parents in the Lord, for this is right.  Ephesians 6:1

Army Man Crawl

The last blog was mostly about Ford, so this one is mostly about Toto!!!

Ford is ALWAYS in John Brantley’s business!

We had his 4 month doctor visit and shots =( on Thursday.
Weight: 14 lbs. 15 oz.
Height: 25 ¼ inches
Head circumference: 42.7 cm
I don’t have a clue how they figure out the percentiles of this stuff but apparently he is in the 50th percentile in all 3.  I think they are crazy…. He’s a hefty boy.

So clean and sweet after his bath

Band-Aids where he got his shots

I have spent some time in Jackson recently.  My grandfather fell and has been in the hospital for almost 2 weeks.  John Brantley went down with me yesterday.  I think he lifted my grandmother’s spirits.

Today I introduced baby food for the first time.  He has been eating rice cereal and oatmeal for 3 ½ weeks now.  Today he had green beans and bananas.  I can say I don’t think it was a hit!

I really think he is trying to cut a tooth.  The poor little guy literally chews on stuff ALL day.  He will gladly chew on your fingers if you will offer them to him.  I let him chew on my thumb the other day and it really hurt.  We have tried Tylenol, teething, tablets, gel, frozen rags, and today I gave him a carrot.  He also enjoys chewing on his toes.  It’s soooo cute that he found his feet!
He is also kind of doing an army man crawl.  He tucks his legs up under him and pushes off with his feet.  He can move around a little that way or roll where he thinks the action might be taking place!

Waited ALL year for this day

Today was a B-I-G day in the life of Ford Lamar.  I mean BIG like Christmas and birthday kind of big.  Today was his school’s field trip to Cedar Hill Farms.  We went last year on his field trip and he has literally talked about it ever since.  It was kind of chilly this A.M. but it warmed up.
The chicken show

Playing in the corn

Feeding the animals

Waiting on the train ride

We had to go back and check on the corn again.

Pony ride

Ahhhhhhh and the highlight of his trip…. The big red tractor.  He pitched not one, but TWO fits when he had to get off.

We rode on a hayride out to a corn field to pick a pumpkin.  I will have you know there were hundreds of pumpkins out in that field and I think Ford touched every one of them.  He is JUST like his Daddy!!!  Am I right, Puddin?

Going down a big slide… He did this about 20 times!

And last but not least, playing in the sand to get nice and dirty before going home

This little guy didn’t get to go.  He stayed home with Mrs. Kathy, Ford’s retired babysitter.  I feel better knowing that he didn’t sleep for her either.  I think he slept 10 minutes.  What’s the secret to napping is what I need to know!!!

What a Fun trip to Cedar Hill Farms.  If anyone wants to go again Ford is up for the trip!

He Wants to Rip Them Off
