Easy Week

I love to see a sleeping baby.

There’s just not a lot happening in Lamarville right now. It’s hot as blue blazes here so we haven’t even been playing the water hose as much and as far as the wagon and the little red car are concerned those have been parked in the storage room.

Ford learned how to give “5” this week and I have been helping out with VBS at our church. We have been running a lot of errands. I am not sure where I come up with so much to do but it consumes a large chunk of my day. Today I had 20 things on my list and I still have 8 left. And blogging was not on the list!!! When school starts back I may need a personal assistant to help me out some!!!

Yes, my living room IS always that clean!!!

I am still going to work out with Lucy’s mom, the personal trainer from you know where!!!! I am kidding, she is just trying to get me in shape while causing me great bodily harm and discomfort.

Ford still only has 6 teeth. It seems like we got all 6 really quick and now we are at a stand still. He eats, peas, green beans, butter beans, apple sauce, cheese, baby yogurt, Tyson chicken strips, turkey, Cheerios, baby snacks, chocolate pudding etc. He won’t eat real fruit, only baby food fruit. I think it’s the texture. He won’t eat noodles either… texture again. What do you other moms feed your babies??? Now of course when Puddin cooks her big Sunday lunch he eats other things as well, but what is listed above is a usual lunch or supper choice.

The Private World of a Woman

I was tagged by “The Wilson Family” to share what is in my bag with you. I thought it was a neat idea and was excited to see my name listed as one of the chosen ones to let you into one of the most private worlds of a woman… “her purse.”  This is the same bag as people call them now a days, I still prefer a purse, which I have carried since August of 2008. It’s a good old Mat and Nat purse.

First off we have 3 bottles of hand sanitizer which I rarely use because I am not even a fan of the stuff. I like some good old soap and water. Also pictured is some sanitizer lotion, 3 bottles of regular lotion, and some Nivea sunless tanner. I do not rub the tanning lotion on me daily, but planned to put some on this weekend before the family reunion and I forgot so it will probably ride around in my purse for a while as well.

On to the next load… we have some nail clippers of Ford’s. Remember I do not cut his nails because we get our regular manicure and pedicure from Mrs. Amy at Daddy’s office on Tuesdays. So they must stay in the purse as well. I also have some floss from the dentist, cuticle cutters (I needed them today), a sample thing of Deo I got in the mail (you never know if you might forget to put some on!) contact solution and a case (Puddin benefits from this more than I do), some hairspray that is missing the top, 3 chap sticks, 2 rubber bands, 4 band aids, and some lip gloss which I do not use because I prefer my chap stick.

We have here 4 pens and 1 pencil, a calendar which I never remember to write in, a keychain with no keys on it, and a whistle. The whistle is quite handy when it comes to entertainment for Ford. He has actually learned how to blow it. No, I don’t use the whistle to warn off bad guys or strangers, I used it when I had recess duty this spring, which was everyday might I add!!

Now we have 2 things of gum (1 was almost empty so I grabbed another pack), 1 eraser (kids at school never had their supplies), some tape since I have already decorated my room for the fall, some sunglasses, a Humana glasses cleaner that the insurance man gave me when he tried to sell me about twelve different policies and a battery charger for my old camera that is broken.

We have my gigantic camera case for the dinosaur camera I am using while my old one is broken, my dirty green wallet, my make-up bag, and my swanky phone. I know all ya’ll IPhone and Blackberry people must be jealous of my cool Nokia!!!

And I almost forgot that Dum-Dum sucker that is always a good bribe for Ford.

Now I tag: Janice, Lauren, Lynn, Margaret, Jennifer and Ashley.

Family reunion fun…

I have such a handsome husband!

One last thing… Happy 35th anniversary (June 14) to my wonderful parents! I love you Mom and Dad!!!!!!!

A New Appreciation

I “poke fun” at living in Mayberry all the time, but this week I grew a greater appreciation for my little town. Ford, Gran, and I went on a field trip to Jackson to visit my maternal grandparents and to see Puddin. Ford was a dream on the drive down. He watched his Baby Einstein dvds and took a 20 minute nap.

You may be wondering what this new appreciation is that I found while out of town. Well, it’s the fact that Mayberry has very little traffic and somewhat safe drivers. Ford and I almost got hit from the back on Lakeland (I do not miss that road) and I was constantly opening my mouth saying “Oh my gosh” when I saw how some people were driving. I must have come to Mayberry driving that same way because my first official day in this town I got flipped off! That was 3 years ago and I am over it now!

We got lots accomplished on our visit. We went to visit one of my teacher friends from Jackson, Pam Wilson, and she let Ford play in her water hose.

We lost the swimming suit. Check out that muddy diaper…

There is not one other little boy in the state of Mississippi that can say his grandmother is on the Mississippi Supreme Court other than Ford. Yes, we went down town to see Puddin’s office and let everyone see how much he had grown.

Ford and I went to Jackson to visit Puddin at work when he was 5 weeks old. We took a picture on her couch and decided to again on this visit. Oh how he has grown.

We ate lunch at River Hills Country Club with some family.  That evening we ate again at Majestic Burger and then went shopping at the Renaissance Mall in Ridgeland. I found Ford and Puddin catching up on their reading in Barnes and Noble.

Ford and I were up and ready to go visiting again early this morning. We went to visit a long time friend and one of my college roommates, Taylor Greenlee Kilgore, before 8:00 this morning. Since we were all in our jammies there are no pictures. Ford, Gran, my Grandmother, and myself had lunch at Primos and then went back to my Grandparent’s house to play before we had to come home.

I think my Grandmother looks amazing to be in her 80’s. She will probably kill me for posting pictures of her on here. I only hope I can look that good when I am older.

Ford’s first name is Jefferson and that is also my grandfather’s first name.  I think Ford was fascinated with my Granddaddy and his Great Granddaddy.

He enjoyed trying to get some keys out of a filing cabinet.

We left about 1:45 with high hopes that the little man would sleep on the way home. No such luck. He refused to take a nap; therefore, he went to bed at 6:30 tonight.

The End.

Hey Lainey!!!!

When we found out Lainey Wilson was coming to Philadelphia and we could go, we jumped at the chance to see her concert. We got to get on Mar...
