Cute as a Button

This past year has passed by so quickly.  Little Annie graced us with her presence on February 23, 2015, and since then we haven't slowed down a lick.  Yesterday was "her" day.  It was her first birthday party, which I wanted to make special.  It's not like she will remember it, but I have been successfully documenting every move my family has made since 2008, and I don't plan to slack off anytime soon.  

The theme was "cute as a button".

Ohhhh what a sweet and special day!  I couldn't have imagined how life changing and how much fun a little baby girl could be.  She's sweet, sassy, and spoiled to the core, but we wouldn't have it any other way!

P.S.  My Fitbit said I walked over 15,000 steps yesterday... glad it's over.

Doctor visits galore....

Violated.  Annie has been violated all week.  The little darling can't catch a break.  On top of her ear junk, which we will get to shortly, she got to go to the eye doctor.  No, I haven't noticed an issue, but my optometrist does free screenings in babies 6-12 months.  Free is my most favorite word.  So we went....

There was much too much waiting for little Miss Busy Body.  She was into everything.  Annie desperately wanted to pull all 200 pairs of glasses off of the twirly display.

She made friends, squealed, and grunted at everyone in the waiting room.  

Dr. Scott did a lovely job with her and Annie cooperated nicely, until her eyes got dilated and that just ticked her right off!!!!  I would be mad too!

Not only did we get our eyes checked, BUT we had some more trips to the pediatrician.  Tuesday she was acting very needy/clingy/fussy.  I knew.  I called and we bee bopped right on up there.  Sure enough... another double ear infection complete with BOILS!!!  I told him to give her a shot.  We were instructed to come back on Wednesday for another shot and by Thursday we went to the ENT.  

The ENT was great.  Her ears were still red and fluid filled.  She is scheduled for tubes on Tuesday...her birthday!

Here's to tubes and feeling better very soon!!!!!!

Y'all, being a mother is hard.  It's time consuming.  It's exhausting.  It's a lot of things.  But despite all that, it sweet and precious, and I must remind myself of that when the days are long.  

Bitty is a momma's boy.  He "needs" me quite often.  The other morning Ford was at school, Annie was asleep, and he wanted me to hold him on the couch.  So I did, and we held hands.  Preciousness. 

Wal-Mart is my biggest financial downfall.  Some weeks I refuse to go more than once.  Then there are weeks that I find myself there three or four times because Trey needs stuff or my kids have Valentine parties.  This is how it's done....

Bad idea #487

On Saturday we all, plus dad, headed to Oxford to see Granddaddy.  He's so sweet.  I just wish he could hear better.

The VA wore sister out.

And we bought some furniture on the ride home.

Our across the street neighbor's, who happen to be family, have three baby calves that are bottle fed.  We helped out!

The man who owned the construction company that built our house got married back in September.  I just had to go.  It's not everyday you see two almost 80 year olds getting married.  So I went.  I enjoyed talking to my older neighbor from town, whose name also happens to be Jill.  The bride sent us a copy of this picture in the mail last week because she's sweet like that.  "The Jill's". 

One must be festive at all times.  Valentine's Day....

When Fancy is the last to drive my ride....

Yesterday was a school holiday, President's Day. It was cold and rainy, therefore, we had to get out of the house.  To the church gym we went....

Yesterday I got pampered.  Several friends got me a gift certificate to get a manicure and pedicure.  It was FABULOUS!!!  Needless to say, the old phalanges hadn't seen any love in quite some time.  I was extremely embarrassed that the girl had to see my feet and fingers in such shape.  But I am looking slick now!!!!
