Keep the Faith

Two years ago this month, my precious mother was diagnosed with stage 3 (now stage 4) pancreatic cancer.  I still remember exactly where I was and what I was doing when the phone rang.  Trey was at work, and I was trying to feed the boys their supper.  The news came as some sort of a shock.  Mom, whom I refer to as Gran on here, had been feeling bad for weeks. I encouraged her to get checked out by a specialist and not just a primary care doctor. I knew something wasn't right, but I didn't know it was as nasty as it really was.

The last two years definitely haven't always been easy by any means, but she has been a super trooper.  Some days it's difficult to tell she's even in pain.  Other days I know the second she says hello on the phone.  Mom and I are close.  There's communication via phone calls or text 5-10 times a day.  I know my mom and she knows me.

The last few weeks she's been hurting; lots of pain, discomfort, and cramping.  As someone who thinks she hung the moon, it's terrible to witness.  I have literally spent more time in prayer for her than is humanly possible to explain.

If you are a believer in the power of prayer, I ask you to please lift my mother up.  Pray for peace, comfort, no pain, and of course, complete healing.

Keep the Faith
