Tis the Season

It’s been mighty chilly in Mississippi lately.  If you think it doesn't get cold here you are wrong.  We have woken up to this several mornings this week.
Cooking supper is usually a difficult task.  I have the neediest kids in the state and trying to do much more than Lucky Charms takes a lot of prayer and a miracle.  The other night I decided to try some new recipes I had found while sitting with my mom at chemo.  I was able to cook without interruption because the boys were playing…together…peacefully.  I was even good with the fact that they made my rug into a hill.
Sometimes at night we go sit and look at the Christmas tree.  Ford suggested that I take their picture.  It really was a lovely thought, but is much easier said than done.  All the blurry lines you see are movement caused by John Brantley.  He can’t sit still.
Every five years our church prints a new church directory.  We signed up to get our pictures taken one night last week.  The photographer wanted us to sit in a lovely posed position while he focused and adjusted his camera.  Sitting still for more than 1 second isn't my children’s cup of tea.  John Brantley was bucking and Ford stuck his tongue out.  Go figure!!!  That’s how we roll.  Then we had to wait until they processed so we could choose the one we wanted.  Again, the boys couldn't sit still.
Ford asked me if I was ready to play baseball one morning!!!!
John Brantley looks like an evil Chucky doll here.  Yes, I just said that about my child!
Today we went to Ford’s school to see Santa.  John Brantley wasn't scared at all.  Now smiling wasn't on the agenda, but he sat in the big man’s lap the entire photo session.  Go Bitty!!!
In other news…
Ford has been playing a lot of Legos and loves watching the PBS channel after school.  That’s about all I can let him watch and not worry about questionable stuff coming on.

John Brantley has been undecorating my tree every chance he gets and pulling my China tea cups out of my cabinet.  He also thinks it’s funny to tee tee when I am changing his diaper or on the floor before his bath.
I had a celebrity moment today!!!!  We went to Southaven to eat lunch and look around before naptime.  When we were getting in the car a lady walked up to Trey and said, “Are y’all the Lamar’s?”  He said we were and she told him she reads my blog.  I was soooo excited.  I jumped out of the car and met her.  It was fun to meet someone that I didn't know, but finds my blog interesting.  Thanks for stopping us, Susan!!!
