Yesterday Mayberry had Christmas open house at all (actually
the few we have) the cute stores. I didn’t
get to go shopping, but I did take Ford and John Brantley to see Santa. I told Ford the day before that we would go
see the big guy and he was very excited.
He definitely needed to tell him about the $219.00 blue 4 wheeler at
Wal-Mart that he “needs” every time we go.
He was also very interested in seeing Santa’s sleigh and had big plans
to ask to go on the roof and check it out!
Ford was pleased that he got a sucker and John Brantley was
trying to yank off Santa’s beard. I hope
he won’t hold that against him on December 25th!!!
Naptime is so precious.
I wouldn't dare go in Toto’s room and take his picture though. He is a light sleeper and will raise the roof
with some crying if I did that. Just
imagine his cuteness!
My friend, Amy, let me borrow her jumper. She said it wasn’t called a Johnny Jump Up
since its pink. I believe she referred
to it as a Janie Jump Up. John Brantley
likes to bounce. He had a close
encounter with the door facing this morning.
I hope we don’t get an injury!
BoomPa came down on Saturday to play. And play he did with Ford. Ford drove his cars and trucks all over Boom!
Some things about
Ford:
As you have all read he loves some Mickey Mouse Club
House. The other day I heard him
counting backwards.. 10-9-8-7-6… and I was very impressed. I liked what I heard. Then I remembered he heard them counting on
one of the episodes before they blasted off into outer space.
Ford is a rule follower.
When we see someone getting pulled over by the police he always needs to
know “why?”. The other day he said, “Mama,
we don’t want to cut open the law and get a ticket!”
He likes to talk about hunting and shooting things with his
gun. He told me, “I’m ready to be growed
up so I can be big and kill deer and bobcats and ride on 4 wheelers."
The other day Ford and I had a conversation…
Me: “Ford you need to
clean up this living room.”
Ford: “Mama, where is my Bible?”
Me: “Ford you need to clean up this living room.”
Ford: “God wants me to read to him!”
Me: “God also likes when children obey their parents.”
Ford: “Mama, where is my Bible?”
Me: “Ford you need to clean up this living room.”
Ford: “God wants me to read to him!”
Me: “God also likes when children obey their parents.”
Friday night Trey took Ford to the football game so that
left me and baby here alone. I got John
Brantley to bed at 7:00 and I followed shortly after. Ford came in saying, “Mama I have good
news. There is a gibbous moon. I love a gibbous moon. Do you love a gibbous moon? Another day there will be a gibbous moon so I
can see it. It’s kind of orange and
sideways.” --- Apparently Trey taught
him about a little astronomy on the way home!
Ford: “Mama, John Brantley hit me in the golly hopper.”
Trey was frustrated with Ford because he wasn’t minding
yesterday. Trey said, “Ford when are you
going to mind the first time?” Ford: “When
God teaches me.” Ohhhh we are in for IT
with that child!
Some things about
John Brantley:
He is using his hands so good lately. He grabs whatever comes in his reach and puts
it directly into his mouth.
Meal times are always fun.
He eats on top of the dining room table in his Bumbo seat. He is constantly bucking and moving. He is completely filthy when he is finished. I decided someone needs to make a baby poncho
and handcuffs for dinner time.
He knows his Mama.
When I walk in the room he lights up.
If he hears me he tries to break his neck or back to flip around to see
where I am.
He is about to graduate to size 3 diapers… probably in 2
days when we finish all the size 2’s.
He has started waking up TWICE in the middle of the
night. This has happened the last 4 nights
and I am about to go insane.
He still doesn’t have teeth, but he is working hard on
getting some. I have been putting
nighttime Orajel on his gums. He hates
it and cries and cries. After the
initial shock wears off he is fine!
Yes, I am that mom who dressed her kids alike to go see Santa and yet again for church this morning!!!
Speaking of church this morning….. I was getting ready this morning and had on
my hot pink turtle neck and a colorful blazer type jacket. I hadn’t done my hair or found some pants to
fit and Trey said I looked like a clown!
I changed the colorful blazer. I
liked it too! Maybe another week.
It was also exciting because it’s finally cold here. When it gets cold I won’t wear a skirt or
dress to church during the winter. I am
a sissy and being cold isn’t for me. I
usually wear black pants. Well, I haven’t
worn my pants in 2 years. Last year I
had the privilege of wearing maternity pants and now it was time to tackle the
closet and see what would fit. I dreaded
it. I dreaded it like people dread
raking their yards in the fall, or driving across the country with kids in their
car, and eating cauliflower. You get the
jist… I wasn’t looking forward to it! I
have lost ALL of my weight, however, it’s like someone took me and shook me all
up and the body just isn’t the same. Now
I feel sorry for myself and complain a lot, but it’s my fault. I could fix it if I’d run or something cool
like that. But I won’t. Okay…. So I found some black pants that
worked. My good old faithful pair I have
had since I was 19!!!!!!!!!!! Whoop
Whoop!
