Grounded

Grounded!  Have you ever been grounded?  Oh I have!!   I think the Anthony kids were destined to be terrible at age 15.  Good thing that was half my life ago and I am much older and much more mature now!!!  Let’s see… at age 15 I was in 9th grade and I thought I knew pretty much everything.  The first time I was grounded was at the beginning of the school year.  Mrs. Dawsey, my Introduction to Fine Arts teacher, called my parents because I was talking to Casmus Simmons during Channel 1.  Now anyone who went to Oak Grove knows who Casmus was.  I wasn’t flirting, Trey… he was a big burly gorilla type guy.  For that offense I was grounded for TWO days from the phone.  That was bad (I loved the phone back then).  My second offense came close to Christmas time.  I was grounded most of the Christmas holiday for sneaking out and rolling my friend, Jessica Shands’s, yard.  I’m pretty sure she told my parents that I did it.  That Christmas break was NOT fun!  I stared at the walls for about 2 weeks.  And then in the spring I was busted yet again for attending a Crew party.  I think that was the time that my dad told me he couldn’t trust me as far as he could throw me and they threatened to send me to French Camp.
Luckily, I straightened up and became the model citizen I am today!!!  Grounding still happens though.  It happened at the Lamar household today.  Sometimes Ford acts like a precious angel and other times I think he is possessed by mean little spirits who tell him to throw toys at little girls during church.  Yes, he did that!!!  Why, I don’t know?!?!?  That wasn’t all he did today, but it was the straw the broke the camel’s back.  Therefore, Fancy decided he couldn’t watch any TV or play with any toys today.  That sounds nice and all but what in SAM HILL does a 3 year old do that can’t play with toys????  Yep, drive you crazy!
Eating an ice cream cone at Puddin and Pops’s house after church

This is pretty much what John Brantley looks like all day long!

Pops was talking to Ford about his behavior today

Puddin was threatening to put rollers on John Brantley’s old man comb over hair doo

He was happy because I had been feeding him Puffs.  No, he doesn’t have a cheek full of Puffs, they always look like that!!!

My sweet boys

In conclusion, grounding is necessary sometimes, but when a three year old has NOTHING to do he’s not the only one grounded… the momma is too!
