We had a lovely 4th of July hanging around Mayberry and spending some time with the family. Trey was a little bummed that we weren’t on or near some form of body of water such as Pickwick Lake, so I took him to Puddin and Pop’s pool to help ease the pain.
Ford is a fish. He has NO fear of the water which is a little scary. He will jump off the side of the pool or the steps. If you hold him in the swimming position he will flap his arms and kick his legs. I hope he learns to swim at a younger age than I did. Remember I failed swimming lessons!!! I was about 15 before I learned to swim. KIDDING!!! I have not been brave enough to wear a momma bathing suit. I know it is time.
Fourth of July 2009 as compared to Fourth of July 2010
Popsicles are great
My in-laws love to make homemade ice cream and this weekend Ford decided he would help out a little.
Trey loves to go on joy rides on the outskirts of Mayberry which is just not my favorite thing to do. Sometimes I will give in and join in on his fun and tag along with him. This time we went to check out the sunflowers. Trey was really excited when he saw how good they looked and he CAN’T WAIT for dove season.
Yesterday evening Trey said he wanted to have some quality family time, which I am ALL about, and go do something fun. I suggested a picnic and after some compromise on the location we settled on the church!!! Since our outing was impromptu I didn’t have a meal prepared we decided to swing by sonic on the way. We ate our food and then let Ford play on the playground. He loved the slide. Oh and I let his father dress him for the little adventure and this is what I got… Its nearly 100 degrees and he put the baby in boots!!!!!
I am still doing my workouts in the morning with the personal trainer that is on the level of Jillian from The Biggest Loser. If I would go consistently and not go to the beach I could be making some real progress. I am trying though. Sweet Lucy, my student from 2 years ago, keeps Ford while I sweat the pounds away with her momma.
Ford and I joined some friends today for lunch and had a fabulous meal and play date. We trapped all 3 kids in the pack-n-play and got a picture.
Well, the little man and I are off to Wal-Mart now. Until next time…
