75 Years of Boom

The ice storm, Fern, was no joke.   We knew it was coming, and in true Jill fashion, I overprepared.   BUT I am glad I did.  We had mounds of ice, not snow.   We couldn't drive.   It was slippery.   Dogs hate ice.   The electricity bill will be insane.  It's been 16 days since it hit, and I still have ice.

The kids missed two full weeks of school.   It brought back memories of when they left for spring break 2020, and the schools never took the kids back!   Today they went!!!!!

We dug a little walking path out of the garage.
I have been BEGGING for a tankless water heater for a while.   Trey went ahead and bit the bullet.   The day after installation, I posted this on Facebook....

I sit here this morning thankful. I am thankful for Ethan Foresman and the Senatobia Fire Department. I am thankful for carbon monoxide detectors, and I am thankful the children and I are still alive.
We had a tankless hot water heater put in our home yesterday. The job was left unfinished with the intention of coming back today to complete it. After we all took showers, we unknowingly filled our home with the odorless gas. Praise God, we had no school today, and the children and I were up late watching a movie, or the boys would have been in extreme danger. By the time the fire department arrived, the levels were pretty high upstairs. We didn’t stay at home last night and are all ok.
If you don’t have carbon monoxide detectors in your house, please get them. Thankfully, God isn’t finished with my family yet….
Trey finished his shop, and while ordering lights for out there, he got new pendant lights for the kitchen.
We did lots of snuggling during Fern!
Annie has gotten on this kick... where she wants to cook.   We did lots of that during our two weeks at home.
When the ice started to melt, the boat went out into the lake.   Ford had to perform a rescue mission to go get it.   Waders and all....
It was full of water.
Mr. Jay took Bit and Rials duck hunting....
We had an engagement party for Douglas and Vance at Callie's house....
Sweet BoomPa turned 75 yesterday, and we had him a birthday party!
