I need time

Do you know that being me or a mom in general is exhausting?  I can't remember the last time I felt well rested.  I'm assuming it was about 7 years ago before kids and before pregnancy.  All I really want is some "Suzanne time" (time to myself) and a nap.  That's all.  It's free....a girl can dream.

My three little minis are a full time job and then some.  I love being at home with them and seeing all they do and say everyday, but tonight I'm tired.  I'm tired because their Daddy left several days ago to go on a deep sea fishing trip, and the little monsters have been ganging up on me.  Put them to bed at 6:30 or 8:30, it makes no difference.  They are awake and READY to rumble at 6:30.  Therefore, tonight it was bed before 7:00 followed by wine for momma.
The Bit is hysterical.  He's very literal and to the point.  Some of his sayings lately are:

"Right this minute?"  If I say we are going to do something he comes back with that reply!
"A big bunch"  The child doesn't use the words "a lot", instead it's "a big bunch".  He wants a big bunch of cereal or he went tee tee a big bunch.
There's a phrase we use in our house, especially Ford, if he wants hugs and attention.  It's "I need love". Well, as you can see, when Annie gets on the floor she's immediately mobbed and loved all over.  She tolerates the attack very nicely.
The Bit has had swimming lessons this week.  To say it's gone well would be a lie.  Monday it was brutally cold, and he didn't know the instructor.  If looks could kill she would have been toast!   He lasted 5 minute.  The rest of the week hasn't been great.  He's whined, cried, fussed, gotten out of the water, etc. He has averaged about 30 minutes a lesson all the other days.  I wasn't expecting that he'd learn to swim, I just want him to be comfortable in the water.
Today he threw a swim ring at his teacher!
After day #2 since it was a drastic improvement from day #1, he got to ride the swim teacher's dad's tractor.
Last summer the boys and I virtually lived at the county club pool.  This summer is proving to be slightly different with all the napping and feedings.  We did, however, manage to squeeze in a pool trip one afternoon.  Annie hated the brightness.
Annie is a chunk of love and Ford is a bone warrior.
This little squirt is 36 months old.  He had on a 24 month swim suit which kept falling to his knees.  We just got rid of it.  Redneck swim diapers all the way!!!!!!!!!
Oops, he spilled his snack.  No need to waste it!!!!.... Eat it like a dog.
Being that "The Bit" will be three on June 13th it's time for things to get real.  And with that I mean bye bye Luvs diapers size 3 and hello big boy underwear.
This transition and attempted training hasn't come easy, oh no.  My strong willed child has been pretty much ticked about my new idea.  He doesn't want big boy underwear.  He wants diapers.  He doesn't want to tee tee on the potty numerous times a day.  That's why we water the grass so much!!!
This is day three.  It's going really well.  Day 1 he tee teed in his swimming diaper.  Day 2 he tee teed once in his undies when I wasn't home and Day 3 was a dry day!!!!
We ventured to Oxford after lunch to pay a visit to my sweet 90 year old Granddaddy.  I just plopped Annie right up beside him which he enjoyed until she started wiggling too much and I had to get her back.
They needed somewhere to sit!!!
John Brantley always needs someone's hand to hold when walking near cars.  Today it was both Gran and Boom's hands.  He got a little lift.
Until next time...
