Death to the stomach bug

Mayberry is moving on up!!!  Now that we voted liquor into the county we are seeing some changes.  One change being that restaurants want to come here!  Applebee’s opened up on Monday and you would think that they were giving away free stuff in that place.  It’s been hopping ever since.  I’m going out on a limb here, but I would guess that most Tate county residents have eaten at an Applebee’s before, but everyone needs to try “ours” out.  I am included.  I went.  I ate.  I tried it out.

This whole mission to the new Applebee’s took place on Tuesday at lunch.  That’s pretty much the only place I went ALL day long.  Fast forward to Wednesday, and I woke up feeling not so perky.  I decided I needed to strap on my big girl pants and deal with it.  And so I did.  I cooked and cleaned most of the morning while Ford was at school.  After I picked him up we had lunch and I decided I needed a nap.  Things just weren't too perky.  I had a little nap and woke up feeling a tinge worse than before.  That wasn't fun!!!  The rest of the afternoon I sat around feeling blah.

I made the ultimate decision that we would have supper super early, followed by baths, and bed time.  Trying to bathe both boys, dry their hair, and brush their teeth was a struggle.  I knew what my future held.  When it was time to rock John Brantley I started praying, “Please Lord let me get him to sleep before it comes.”  Thankfully, the Lord answered my prayers and both boys were asleep and BAM… 3 minutes later THE STOMACH BUG hit.  It hit HARD!!!!!!

One of my biggest fears in life is the stomach bug.  There is really nothing you can do for it but let it run its course.  I took Phenergan, but it’s pointless when you can’t keep anything down.  I started texting the Representative at 7:15 BEGGING him to come home from Jackson.  He couldn't… he was out to eat.  I tried again around 9:00ish and he said he just couldn't come because some kids were coming to tour the capitol the next day from Mayberry.  I kind of got ticked.  I told him I bet only 3 of the 30 plus kids could even pick him out of a crowd and by morning I would be DYING!!!!!  I finally stopped throwing up at 1:00 AM when there was literally nothing left to come out of my body.  The husband didn't come home!!!  Instead, I had my babysitter, Samantha, at my house before 7:00 AM.  She took Ford to school and Bitty to her house.  She kept them until almost 5:00 that evening so I could rest.

I tried to rest, but I was flipping out about the germs in my house.  Luckily, it was a nice day so I opened the windows for about 7 hours, ran my washing machine literally all day, Clorox wiped anything I could have touched, and sanitized the bathroom.  Today is Sunday and I still don’t feel 100%.  As for Fancy, he better hope he doesn't get it, because I don’t have much compassion in me right now.  I was in desperate need of water during my near death experience and NO ONE was here to help me!
