Fireworks and my favorite

We rang in the 4th in my kind of fashion… by the pool.  I prefer a low key life style.  I don’t need elaborate parties or big functions to attend.  I just like being with my family and taking it easy.

After John Brantley’s morning nap we headed to Puddin and Pop’s pool for some swimming, sunning, and good eating.
Like mother like son….  Momma laid out and Ford decided he would too while his food settled.  The child literally swam from 11:00-4:00 with only a 30 minutes break!

That night we got John Brantley a babysitter and headed to eat with some friends.  Low and behold half of the town was closed due to the 4th so we opted for Wendy’s (fine dining, I know) and then to the country club for fireworks.
I was proud I got to attend this year.  Last year I didn't get to partake.  I remember walking in a path around my living room rug for an hour while John Brantley (who was 3 weeks at the time) yelled and screamed because his stomach hurt.  And to make matters worse, Ford came home crying because he dropped a sparkler on his foot.  This year we didn't hold a sparkler, we decided sitting and spectating was the way to go!
I have to do a load of the boys’ laundry every night.  After I dump it in the washer they like to ride in the basket around the kitchen.  It’s a serious work out for my legs!
It warms my heart that my boys get soooo excited to ride the lawnmower with their daddy.  They stood and waited patiently, crazy I know (patiently part), for him to pick them up!
We have come to the end of an era.  After right at 13 months it’s time for Bitty to get a big boy car seat.

He is very proud of himself!!!
We absolutely have the sweetest and most patient dog.  It’s a good thing too because Bitty wears Delta out!!!
Fordisms…

Tonight in the bath tub: “Momma, I’d prefer that you not get that soap in my eyes.”

While we were eating supper tonight John Brantley was acting wild, screaming, throwing food etc.  Ford said: “Just pitch it brother!”  (Meaning, just pitch a fit).

Ford desperately wants a sister.  NO I am NOT pregnant and have NO plans to be either.  But my child talks about needing a sister ALL the time.  He told me today that he was lonely and a sister would make him not lonely.  I reminded him that he had Delta and Bitty, but that wasn't good enough.

While I was cleaning the bathroom this morning I could hear Ford talking.  When I listened closer I could hear that he was talking to God.  Naturally he was telling God he wanted a sister.  A few minutes later he came back to the bathroom and said he was not happy.  I asked him why.  He said, “God told me I couldn't have a sister.”  ----  Smart thinking God!

On July 9th Trey and I will have been married for 8 years.  Happy Anniversary to my favorite!!!!  I love you!
