Well the little man is 4 months old. It’s really hard to believe I have been a
mother of two for 4 months now. He has
grown soooo much in the last 4 months and has developed quite the
personality.
The pediatrician said he needed to take infant vitamins with
iron in them. Well, they look and smell
nasty. The poor baby makes terrible
faces when I give it to him.

Here are some things about John Brantley….
He isn’t a big fan of a pacifier. He’d rather eat his hands.
He gets really upset when he is tired or hungry. There isn’t much consoling that can be done so you better get ready to feed him.
He is eating rice cereal and oatmeal. Feeding time is difficult because he wants to eat his hands the entire time and he usually slumps down in the bumbo.
He loves to take a bath. I still put his seat in the kitchen sink. He gets a bath immediately after he eats his rice or oatmeal.
He squeals and talks a lot. It really is music to my ears!!!
He is very ticklish and does a fabulous belly laugh.
He is weighing in at 14.6 pounds, wears a size 2 diaper (as of this week), and can wear anything clothes wise from 3-9 months depending on the brand.
John Brantley has never worn shoes.
He doesn’t sleep swaddled in his miracle blanket anymore. It’s gotten chilly at night so he sleeps inside his wedge in a sleep sack.
He has lost soooo much hair. It’s slowly growing back blonde and it’s going to be wavy/kinky like mine. Poor child!
John Brantley LOVES Ford. Ford will get down on the floor and talk to him, tickle him, sing to him, and just play. John Brantley just giggles the entire time. When Ford walks away the baby almost breaks his neck to see where he is going.
He is a grabber. He pulls on my hair, earrings, and clothes. Ford never did that so I am in for it now.
He’s a fat baby, but he’s not long. When I put his fall and winter clothes on him they are usually too big and I have to roll the pants legs up.
Teething is probably the worst thing going on with John Brantley lately. Nothing helps!!!!!! He gnaws on his hands ALL day!

FORD
Ford is still a mess.
The other day I went to give him some food to eat and he replied with “That’s
too much honey.” I don’t even remember
what I gave him, but it was so funny.
When Ford gets in trouble he often spends some time in “Time
Out”. When he has been there a while we
will tell him he can get up and come explain to us what happened. It’s very comical for him to try to express
to us what happened, why it happened, and how he will do better next time. He is a little manipulator and tries to cry
his way out of trouble most of the time.
Ford is still obsessed with Mickey Mouse. Today he was very concerned because he said
his spaceship was stuck in North Carolina.
I asked him where he had heard about North Caroline and he told me God
taught it to him. I mean what can you
say to that??
I can’t seem to make Ford understand that cartoons aren’t
real. He seems to think that Mickey,
Donald, Goofy, Daisy, and the entire gang can come play at our house. I gave up on that argument. He thinks we are going to Mars soon to see
them and to find Martian Mickey. I have
decided to just go with it. I can’t
convince him or destroy his dreams of a trip to Mars with the Mickey Mouse
Clubhouse gang!
Ford woke up from his nap yesterday and was on the couch
eating his snack. He said, “Momma, does
God have a big bottom?” Ford talks about
God and Heaven a lot and I have explained that God is REALLY big and can see
everyone, everywhere, all the time. He
still is having a hard to grasping that concept. I guess if he thinks he’s big then he has a
big bottom too!!!
Ford went to the Ole Miss vs. Auburn game with Trey, Puddin,
and Pops.

SAUSAGE and CHEESE ROLL-UPS
1 pound sausage
1 pound Velveeta cheese
3 cans of crescent rolls
1 pound Velveeta cheese
3 cans of crescent rolls
Cook and drain the sausage.
Return the sausage to the skillet.
Heat the cheese in the microwave for 1 minute. Then add the cheese to sausage. Stir until melted. Put one spoonful of mixture into a crescent
roll and roll them up. Cook for 15-20
minutes.
We went to play at our church gym one afternoon with a
friend. Being at home all the time can
get boring. They had a lot of room to
run and play.
We went looking for rain boots at Shoe Carnival. We didn’t find boots, but they had a fire
truck to play on.

Daddy and Ford before they head to the game in Oxford
