His first trip to the dentist

There comes a time in every man’s life that they must go to the dentist.  Well, since Ford is now 3 today was his day.  Now this is something we have been talking about for a LONG time.  I think since Easter when we saw our dental hygienist out to eat that day.
This morning we got dressed, brushed our teeth, and headed to see Dr. Alford and Ms. Jane.
In the waiting room

Checking out the fish tank.  Ford asked me if I had a fishing pole so he could catch some of them!
Ms. Jane letting Ford pick out a toothbrush.  He went with Elmo

Checking out his teeth in the mirror.  Naturally, he had MANY questions!

Then Ms. Jane pulled that bright light down from the ceiling and she let Ford put on some cool sunglasses to help with the brightness.

Not everyone gets to sit backwards in the chair and play with all the stuff.  FORD does!

Dr. Alford gave Ford some of his own latex gloves.  He felt important!

And for a job well done he got to go to the treasure chest and picked a motorcycle and a balloon.  He loved the dentist!!!

And I was informed that he needed to get rid of his paci.  YES, my 3 year old still sleeps with one!!!  I promise to get rid of it before he starts back to preschool next month.  It’s going to be grueling!

Ford looks so calm and eager to go see the dentist for the first time! That’s awesome! It’s important that children learn at a young age that there’s nothing to fear about going to the dentists. Looks like he had a ton of fun!

It looks like Ford had a great time! He looked cool with those glasses. Did the dentist make him bring them home, by the way? :) It is always good to start visits to the dentists early, since this will provide your child with a “dental home” feel. You definitely won’t be having any trouble of bringing Ford to the dentist in the future.

Ford does look cool in those awesome shades. It was great of the dentist to let Ford play with all the stuff. It opens the child’s mind that the things in the dental office are not scary but actually fun and interesting. I agree with Mr. Darcy that you won’t be having any trouble bringing Ford to the dentist again.

Haha! That’s cute! An Elmo toothbrush and cool shades. :D It seems that Ford really enjoyed his first visit to the dentist. Indeed, fancy stuff like this will surely make dentist visit less scary for children. So, when is his next dental appointment?

Cool shades. Cool kid. It’s awesome that he took everything nicely. Very brave kid. It was also good of those clinic staff to accommodate your kid and not scare him out of his wits. It was cool of them to let Ford play around and be comfortable with the new surroundings. It definitely helped Ford familiarize himself in the new environment. : )
