From that to this....

I have wanted to learn to sew for a while now, but like many other things I never got around to it.  I decided that once summer started I would pursue this new idea and there I went.  I told “my teacher” that the ultimate goal was to be able to sew clothes for Ford.  We started simple with a pillow case and moved on to a quilt.
A quilt sounded easy enough.  I was told it was basically sewing straight lines (that and a lot of ironing creases straight).  After a month of sewing (when time allowed) I am finished with MY QUILT!  I am pretty dang proud of it too.  No, it’s not perfect, but it’s special and was made with love for my little man.
From that…
Me hard at work…  And yes 4 hours worth of it was sewn by hand.

To this……

 Monogramming

I can check that off of my list of things to do this summer.  All the other things I wanted to do this summer haven’t happened yet.  Examples: clean out my closet, take stuff to Hope (like the Salvation Army), cook new recipes, lose 15 pounds, etc.  Oh well, I have spent a lot of quality time with Ford doing stuff like this…

Our sweet neighbor and one of my students last year

Ford was concerned that Daddy didn’t put his "bubbles" up.  Yes, a push lawnmower is called “bubbles” by Ford.

I don’t have a lot more to say.  I just needed to show off my sewing skills.  No one place their orders anytime soon.  I don’t believe I will take up quilting anytime soon!

Okay, so I have 4 of those dang jelly rolls sitting on my dining room, er sewing room table but haven't gotten around to any of them. The top doesn't scare me since I've made a few clothes for Emma, but it's the actual quilting and binding process. What did you do for that? I think it would be hard to do with a little machine??? Can't believe how much Ford has grown!
