Dejunking and Brain Surgery

I, unlike most other females in this country, don’t get on Pinterest very often.  However, about 3 weeks ago I had 10 spare minutes (rare in my life) while the boys were sleeping and I got on to see what cute Christmas activities I could do this year with my boys.  I found a picture of a Santa that you add cotton ball to each day as you count the days until the big guy comes.  Well, my Santa didn’t turn out as cute as Pinterest (go figure), but we have fun making his beard every day.

Ford is spoiled, and I mean it without hesitation.  He has more toys than any other child I have ever met in all my 30 years.  It’s not like Trey and I dote on him and buy him all this stuff either.  He loads up at Christmas time and on his birthday and he seems to acquire random stuff throughout the year.  It is seriously a problem and I feel like my house has been taken over by plastic toe-breaking objects.
All the toys, the mess, and the constant overflow of junk got to me last weekend.  I decided it was time to make a change.  I sat Ford down and we had a talk about being thankful for what we have and I told him he had too much.  We had actually ridden by a house that burned down and I explained that the boys and girls lost all of their toys and there were other children who didn’t have toys.  He listened and agreed to help me make a pile.  He started on the pile and I finished cleaning while he was napping.  I threw 2 garbage bags away of Happy Meal toys, broken toys, or stuff that was missing parts.  I filled one garbage bag of good stuff plus another handful of larger items and we headed to Hope Ministries in town.

Trying to sit up… It doesn’t last long.

SUPER FORD…. Yes, we left the house dressed in this funky super hero attire.  He enjoyed the attention at the post office and Walgreens!

Sometimes things just DON’T go your way!

BoomPa came to visit and spend the night last night.  Ford said his name no less than 500,000 times.  He was a good sport and played on the floor with Ford and put puzzles together!!!

I stress and worry about things WELL in advance and no one knows this better than Trey.  I have been concerned about a Christmas card for a while now.  On Monday I decided I would get the boys dressed in matching outfits and we’d make an attempt.  Well, it was a FAILED attempt.  John Brantley was tired and Ford wasn’t feeling it.  My friend, Amy, let me borrow her fancy pants camera that snaps pictures really quick so I tried again on Tuesday.  I am convinced I’d be better at brain surgery than trying to get two small children to cooperate and smile at the SAME time.  Here’s how some of it went down….
Outfit change for Bitty

Preciousness!!!!!!!!!!

After 136 pictures I did get a few that I will use on my Christmas card!  Whew… Glad that’s over!

Ohhh how I love these three!!!!!!!!!!!!

Redneck Yard of the Month

I believe it’s important to give credit where credit is due and when you win REDNECK YARD OF THE MONTH you need to be recognized for this accomplishment!
Do y’all all remember when I was playing those pranks on Trey a few months back?  Well, a friend of mine also got in on the pranking and put a stuffed fox in my laundry room.  She was all worried for a while after that incident and was on guard that I was after her.  She let her guard down and I attacked….

Now I can’t take credit for all of this…. Oh no!  My good buddy, Larry, actually had this planned for MY yard, but I was let off the hook when he learned of my grandfather being so sick.  I guess he thought I couldn’t take his pranks!
I’m telling you this was the highlight of my week!!!  I don’t get out a lot and the 30 minutes we spent perfecting her Yard of the Month seriously made my day!  Yes, that is a real toilet!

You really should close your garage all the way next time, Amy!

Even Larry posed on the pot!

All redneck yards need deer horns and beer…

Bitty eating slippers

You know as a former teacher I loved getting out for holidays and having time off.  Now as a stay at home mom the holidays seem to last forever.  Ford and I BOTH miss him going to school.  Fortunately, the weather at the beginning of the week was nice and we were able to get outside.

This onesie pretty much SUMS IT UP!

Ford, my skinny child, has gone on a recent growth spurt and his blue jeans began looking like capri pants.  I took him to Old Navy the other day and he found a friend when we walked in the door.  Also, please note that I did not pick out those swimming shoes for him to wear.  Some battles aren't even worth fighting!!

Since the whole “Couch to 5K” thing is so popular and my stomach resembles someone off of the biggest loser (not really, but it’s not like it was when I was 25) I decided I needed a jogging stroller.  My sweet cousin found us one that was not being used by one of her friends and now it’s mine!!!  We’ve hit the pavement twice now.  No, I didn’t jog because I decided I needed to do some baby steps, but it’s coming.  I’ll be running like Forrest before y’all know it!!!

I would have seriously put up my Christmas tree a month ago, but I don’t think that’s the proper thing to do.  There are some things I can’t do by myself, one of which is putting up the tree.  It’s Trey’s job to get it down out of the attic, and Puddin helps with the twigs on top and the random placement of the ribbons.  Ford was super help with the ornaments this year.  He put about 12 on the same branch!  GO FORD!!!
Y’all like those pajama pants don’t you!!!  They are Trey’s.  I’m really into men’s clothing these days.  I am known to steal his pajama pants, t-shirts, slippers, and fleece pull overs.  I really enjoy the vast amount of room they have in them as compared to mine!!!  It irritates Fancy when I take his stuff!
Bitty isn’t crawling yet, however it’s amazing how he manages to roll wherever he needs to go.  The other day he thought Daddy’s slipper would taste good.  I think he got some toe-jam in his mouth!

RTT TBS

Thank goodness that Easter Bunny stopped by.... Trying to take pictures of my kids isn't the easiest thing ever..... We recreated a 2016...
